L3 to L4

I'm planning to install Windows 7 on a new hard drive. Can I install L4 from the DVD all by itself and get full functionality? Or should I transfer the L3 settings (Windows Easy Transfer) onto the new drive to save some of my settings, timelines, notes, etc.?

Bayard,

You will have a fully functioning v4 by installing from DVD....

But, you may not have all the same files as on a computer with v3 installed (some v2 resources -LSF/LIX). These can be transferred by you manually through the "Scan" command.

If you would like to be able to import your notes and highlighting in the future, you will at least need to save those particular files. They are not synced under v3/

First I want to say that I'm enjoying learning all the new tools on L4, and it actually works well with my Dell Pentium 4 with 3GB of RAM. One thing in particular I see missing with L4, is to click on a window with my middle wheel from the mouse to have that window scroll automatically. I loved this with L3, and would love it with L4 and the reading view... or is there a way that I don't know about that accomplishes this?

I also like the software reading to me [:D], but how do you get a voice that doesn't sound so computerish? [8-)] Oh, almost forgot... in/on the home page there are readings from other folks that show up, like from Mark and Philip... how did they get there on my homepage? I think it's a good idea, but without any interaction I don't see the usefulness... am I missing something? I enjoyed reading the article Philip read on the Transfiguration! Maybe when we all catch the Wave Logos has a plan to connect us? I was always a big fan of the remote notes that didn't go anywhere, it would have been perfect for Bible Studies if we had a way to have them password protected and not made public to everyone... Just ramdon thoughts.

You can create your own reading list, or edit the reading list I made. There is a slight learning curve, but its really worth it not only for yourself but also for the others who benefit. go to tools>Reading Lists. If you don't see a find box at the top click "All Lists" at the top. (Note the "Create a new list" at the top, you can make one for the topic you are studying by clicking here). Type "Transfiguration" in the find box. Click on the reading list I started. Click the "Edit" link at the top of the pane. This will take you to topics.logos.com/transfiguration. Click "Edit" at the top of that website. Everything after the "Reading list" is what makes up what is seen in L4. If you are reading a particularly focused resource on the Transfiguration click the book icon, select copy as: RL, go to the website mentioned previously, and paste the link in.

I'll have to make a Wiki with instructions for making a reading list.

Thanks for the instructions, I"ll have to check that out. And yes, that would be a good addition to the Wiki list. I have noticed that Logos has added new videos on the training tab on their webpage... love visuals! http://www.logos.com/videos
