Books shown in updates causes Logos to shut down

I have just updated with new books on Deuteronomy. They are listed on the Logos (I'll call it the display page because I can never recall what this is technically called).
It lists the books and then says "and eight more" ---- each time I click on "and eight more" it shuts down Logos. Any idea as to what is causing this?

The Home Page.

An old bug. Go to the Library instead and sort by the Last Updated column to see what was updated.

Apparently, this *bug* doesn't do it's thing all the time, for I have hit this before when updates take place, and it'll take me over to IE9.
Is there anything in the Rumour Mill that says this bug will be fixed or is this put on ignore indefinitely?

Correct. It depends on where exactly on the screen that particular message is. F5 can sometimes move it to another place where the link works as it should.

I suspect you're thinking of other links on the Home Page. That particular link should just expand the list.

I always use the Library to check, so I haven't really followed this bug. I don't remember its details, and I don't remember if it's supposed to have been fixed or not. You can try searching for the older thread.

You say "it depends on where exactly on the screen that message is" ... by the screen, are you saying it depends where on the home page where "and 8 more" is found? If so, which seems to be what I am understanding, I did use the F5 & it did move the location. But it still has the same exciting results - it closes down Logos! :-)
I think you're correct regarding other links. When a particular book or books is advertised, it will usually say " see more" and cllcking on that will lead one to ones' browser. Anyway, as to it being fixed, it isn't. Weird and wonderful. Thanks for the reply.

Here's one of the older threads, explaining where it does and doesn't crash: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/39015/291477.aspx#291477.

I'm totally amazed that this bug hasn't been fixed in nearly a year or more!!!

Why? I've got dozens of unfixed bug reports that are even older. Many of them have never even been recognized by Logos. At least this one has got a case filed for it.

The question is *why* ... the answer is *because* and then that it has a case file written up and it has been going on at least a year. I'm sure this will satisfy your curiosity as to my question. :-)

I think we should be amazed these things are not fixed and be making more of an issue of them. If we sit back and allow them to be swept under the carpet, that's where they will stay.

I find it hard to be 'amazed' at something that happens more often than not. But maybe I don't get all the nuances of the word 'amazed'.Andrew Mckenzie said:I think we should be amazed these things are not fixed and be making more of an issue of them. If we change 'amazed' to e g 'upset' I completely agree with you.
But we need to help each other out with this. E g I bumped a whole lot of old unfixed bug reports of mine last Monday-Tuesday, some two years old, many never even recognized by Logos. I don't think more than one or two received any sort of reply. And as long as I'm the only one complaining it'll probably stay that way. We shouldn't have to, but we need to confirm each others bugs and help bring issues back to the top, so that they can see that more than one is affected.
I presume you two are on PC, so you can't confirm Mac bugs, but you could confirm whether they're present in Windows, making it possible to add some to the Parity List and report others in the Windows forum as well. Or perhaps in the Beta forum, if you're on beta. That seems to be the only place Logos notices bug reports these days...
I probably have five times more bugs left to bump, but when nothing happens, it doesn't feel very meaningful...

Again I have to ask, where does one report these little critters (buggies) ---------- :-)

Normally, in the Windows or Mac forum, preferably with BUG: before a descriptive heading. But in this case I've already added a link to this thread to one of the older bug threads which had one or more answers from Logos. That will ensure that it's seen, whether or not they answer. So in this case, don't go start a third thread. That will only complicate things.

Ok - no third thread but what about a fourth? Seriously, no threads about this from me. :-)

Just found a new thread on this in the Beta forum, and added a link to this one there as well. So now you're really covered.[:D]

Maybe you could add a link here to that one as well --------

Thread => BUG: clicking more on Resources Updated more - home page
Caveat: Logos 4 Mac does not crash if more appears in one of the Home Page boxes, but does not show all the resources either (cannot scroll expanded list on Home Page). Using the Library to show updated resources works consistently.
Keep Smiling [:)]

This appears to be the same issue reported here: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/49374/408928.aspx#408928
I have responded in that thread.
