Missing tags

Good morning.
I am using a MacBook Pro (early 2008) with OS 10.8.2 and Logos 4.6 SR-2 (4.60.0.3010).
I opened my library to tag new resources and found a number of resources that lost the tags I had assigned. There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason in terms of resource or the tag I had assigned. When I checked my library on my PC desktop the resources retained their tags.
Your help is appreciated!

Alan - I'm stumped. Can you give screen shots of both libraries showing this behavior?

Thank you alabama24! I am stumped also and will do that later today.

Wondering if sync has completed on PC and Mac ?
Apologies: unable to replicate since added Library tags in Logos 4.6a Beta 2 on Mac and PC, then sync so tags appeared in other installation.

This is from my Mac library. If you take a look the first resource is the Baker Encyclopedia of the Bible. It shows no tags though I tagged it months (and months ago). As I wrote earlier, I discovered these missing "My Tags" when i was going to tag some newer resources.
Here is the library from my PC with the untagged resources and there are only a few recent additions. The Baker Encyclopedia, for example, is not among the untagged.
Up until yesterday (when I first noticed the issue) my Mac and PC were all synced up. I have synced several times and based on an old thread with someone having tagging problems did a "Rebuild Index."
Any insights, theories, tricks or suggestions that will resolve this would be appreciated.

If you haven't done this already you could try adding a new tag on the PC, so that the file there gets a later timestamp. Then sync the PC, quit Logos, open the Mac, and sync there.
If you want to play it safe you wait for someone else's input first -- I'm no techie -- but nothing bad should be able to happen from that simple procedure. But then what you're seeing shouldn't have been able to happen either...
It might also be possible to remove some particular .db file from the Mac and force a sync that way, only I have no idea of which .db file that would be, and what else might be included in it, so there you really need to wait for someone else.

Good morning fgh,
You are right about the waiting! I typed .db in a search utility and found more than I bargained for. Unless I know which one (or ones) specifically, and what to do with it, I will wait for a little more direction.

Personally added a new tag in one installation, sync, switch to other installation, sync, look at tags. Quit Logos is not needed. Have added tags on Mac and PC, sync, switched, sync, new tags appeared in library. Sync is bi-directional, last time stamp wins. To sync, can click arrows or use sync now command, then wait for arrows to stop spinning.
Curious about Logos 4 version on Mac and PC ? Now have 4.6a Beta 2 (4.61.0.3185) installed on Mac and PC.

Alan - likewise, I am curious about the versions you are running. I know there was a bug in a build last year which prevented L4 Mac from updating. Also, is it possible "use Internet" is turned off on your L4 Mac?

Logos Bible Software 4.6 SR-2 (4.60.0.3010) - this is what displays on both MAC and PC.
I synced successfully several days ago. Yes, my settings have the "Use internet" turned on.

Curious how often sync being done ?
Also wonder if Ratings are being used ?

I typically sync every time I use my Logos. Yes, I have done some rating work.
Interesting development (well, I think it's a new twist): in my Mac library I tagged all the books missing tags to see if they would transfer to my PC. I used AAA as the tag. I physically typed in"sync now" and did the sync. My understanding was that I could add tags to books without affecting previous tagging. I opened my Logos library on my PC and discovered that the AAA tag completely replaced all the tags on my PC also. Argh!

Since rating and tags are in the same database row used by Logos, was wondering if changing rating on PC would update rating and user tagging on Mac.

Suggest contacting Logos Technical Support; not know if older user tags can be recovered.

That's the exact opposite of what I suggested you try. I told you to add a tag on the PC, so that it's file would get the latest timestamp and sync over to the Mac. By adding tags on the Mac instead, you gave it's file the latest timestamp, so of course it synced over to the PC and replaced the file there.
Sorry, but since both your files are now corrupted, I suspect there's nothing more anyone can do to get your old tags back. Logos can restore a deleted note file, but I haven't heard that they can restore a replaced tagging file. You'll have to call them and ask, but I'm afraid that you'll probably have to retag the books manually.

Wait! Do you use Time Machine?

My apology to you, fgh, because I did do it in the wrong order from what you suggested. Nothing like operator headspace (i.e., stupidity) to make a puzzling situation more murky.
Yes, I do have Time Machine activated. Thoughts?

And you don't have the Logos folder excluded? Then:
1) Do not alter anything more in Library on either machine (tags, ratings, titles, whatever).
2) Call Logos MacSupport tomorrow. (Specifically ask for Mac. The PC guys may not know how to do 5), plus the issue began with the Mac.)
3) Describe the problem.
4) Ask if they can restore tags the same way they can restore an accidentally deleted note file.
5) If not, tell them you've got Time Machine backup. I would think that it should be possible to replace the current corrupted .db file with a slightly older one from TM, open Logos offline, add a new tag to update the timestamp, and then restart online and sync over to the PC. If so, ask them to walk you through it. Try to recall beforehand when exactly the Mac file got corrupted, so that you know how far to go back in TM.
6) Before you hang up, make sure they've filed a case for the original issue (that the tags disappeared). It shouldn't have happened.
Of course, if you've got something similar to Time Machine for the PC, it might be better to do the restore from there, since its .db file was corrupted later. But I'm a 100% Mac girl, so I have no idea about such things.
And if KS4J contradicts any of this, trust him over me. [:)]
Wait. Have you downloaded any new or updated books since this problem started? That might ruin this plan. If the older .db file doesn't include all books you now have in your library, trying 5) is probably not a good idea.

Concur PC backup would be better to use since older PC database files would have desired user tags.
Time Machine could restore Logos 4 Mac database files to a point in time before AAA tagging.
Restoring database files on your computer (Mac or PC) does not change the library sync records on the Logos server with AAA user tagging; hence suggestion to contact Logos Technical Support.
If have PC backup files before AAA sync, one option is creating a new Windows user, then use wiki steps to copy backup into a new installation so can verify user tags.
