BUG: Reading Plan And Split Screen Grey-Out Problems

On my iPad I primarily use Logos with a Bible open on the left hand side of a split screen and a commentary on the right hand side. These two resources are set to stay in sync.
If I bring up my reading plan (in the left hand panel) and touch a link, Logos predictably brings my Bible back up and advances to the location where I am scheduled to read. The commentary still appears in the right hand split of the screen.
Here's the weird part... If I decide to turn back a page in the Bible (to remind myself of the context of the upcoming text) the commentary panel becomes greyed out! It will continue to advance as the pages of the Bible are turned (so it is still linked properly) but I cannot manually advance it. The only way to normalize the panel is to go back and reset the RH panel resource.
What in the world?
Seems like a bug to me. I don't see how this is a useful feature. Is there a way to prevent this bizarre behavior?
