I reinstalled LOGOS 3 on a Windows 7 64 bit laptop and I think it is causing problems. I get 'Not Responding' message on other programs. Is Logos 3 compatible with a 64 bit computer?
I use L3 on a Vista 64 machine...I have issues, but I can't say for sure what causes them. Main one is that the program locks under certain conditions--sometimes, if I act quickly, I can't prevent the lock up...other times it just happens. This wasn't a problem when I used Vista 32 (although I had memory lock-up issues back then). I can't say that these are a direct result of going 64...but circumstantially it seems related.
Check the L3 forum for older discussions of related topics.
Sue, welcome to the forums. I have not been able to successfully load Libronix on two different Windows 7 64-bit computers. I get an error message during installation and it never completes. It sounds like you have gotten a little further.
I get 'Not Responding' message on other programs.
Do you mean that while Libronix is running in the background this happens?
Is Logos 3 compatible with a 64 bit computer?
There is nothing to keep Logos from doing so. On my older laptop I upgraded to Windows 7 64-bit and Libronix runs fine there.
BTW: any reason for not upgrading to Logos 4?
I have L3 on my Windows 7 64 bit OS and have experienced no problems since I installed the patch for IE (was it 8 or 9?). I have, however, noted a number of occasions when I have been informed that an IE page isn't responding and the page is reloaded.
I have installed L3 successfully on Windows 7 64-bit. Does it run OK apart from inflicting "not responding" on other programs? What programs?
Have you installed v3.0g with the IE-9 fix?
Are you using IE-10?
Is there a cost to upgrade to 4?
I'm using IE9.
I tried several of the suggestions but no success. I gave up and uninstalled Logos3 on my new laptop. At least I still have it working perfectly on my desktop. Thanks to all who tried to help me. May God Bless.
Assuming you want to get as much out of Logos4 as possible, given your current base package, check this out: http://www.logos.com/minimalcrossgrade
If you have the money, and you would make use of the resources, upgrading your base package is usually a better deal: http://www.logos.com/upgrade
You can install the free engine (only) here, but some features you may be used to in Libronix won't be availabe in the free version: http://downloads.logos.com/LBS4/Installer/Logos4Setup.exe
Before installing Libronix, check out this thread for a patch to make Libronix compatible with IE9: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/30926.aspx
Also the following page has help in dealing with installations errors: http://www.logos.com/support/article/939
Finally found the problem!! It was not Logos causing the problem. After removing Adware my Logos works fine now.
Wiki has => http://wiki.logos.com/Re-install_resources_for_Libronix_3 that includes a link for LogosAddinsAutoUpdate, which works on 64 bit Windows 7:
