Thanks for the samples.  Downloaded, Installed and up and running without a hitch this time around.  Looking forward to see what you've done with PBB

Looks like a good step forward in replacing the Sermon File Add-in.  My question is will there be a way to use this to add new sermons to an existing resource created by the Sermon File Add-in, or will we need to start over from scratch?

IF you are referring to the former Libronix 3 Sermon Files...[they used a "doc." file]

But the new Logos 4 PBB/Sermon files use docx. files

so, yes...you will have to re-compile/re-create all former Sermon Files...and it will have to be done from within Logos 4.

[Was that what you were asking?]

Since I have about 13 years worth of sermons compiled by the old Sermon File Add-in, I was hoping for some way of bringing them into the new format without having to retag every all over again.

    Yes, I can sympathize.

It will be easy enough to re-save the older doc files as docx.

BUT I think that you are right -- there is going to be a lot of work involved in  the re-tagging.

I think Steve is correct.  You might need to think about whether Find and Replace in Word can help you speed some of this up.

Thank you for the samples!  They are very helpful.  Any chance you could post a sample illustration file that has several different illustrations in it, or do these need to be separate word documents?  Every time I compile mine it merges all the text of the various illustrations.  Thank you!

Never mind on this one.  It was my error.  I had two illustration files in two accounts with the same name and the beta install was compiling a different one than what I was editing.  I thought my changes were not working, but it was my error.  Thanks all for a wonderful product!

    Welcome [:D]

Wonder about compiling personal book in one account, then use scan command in other account to copy *.lbspbb file into folder and update personal book index ?  Suggest sync to Logos after compiling book in the firat account, and sync in the second account before using scan command, which propagates metadata information about the personal book.

    Keep Smiling [:)]

assuming this will work with logos 5, also is it best practice to have one long word doc or several word docs in one logos book.  Then for searching purposes do you just use the tags, and the word sermon to bring them up?

Also i have seen a few threads about requesting a tool by logos or macro by users to help build books, does anyone know of any available

Also is syncing available yet, as i would see that is a required feature and a whole point of making your own books, or is there a way of import export to another device.

Sorry for all the questions i want to make best use of the software

    thanks

Only the metadata for the personal books is syned.

I have not done this, but to have the same personal book on two computers all you need to do is to copy the compiled book from one computet to another and then use the scan command.

I am not on my computer with Logos, so I cannot say what directory you will find the compiled book.

    Yes

A good reason to have two docs is when there is a long article referenced from the main doc. Otherwise, you could have OT/NT splits or book/chapter splits which could make maintenance easier.

Then for searching purposes do you just use the tags, and the word sermon to bring them up?

A bible can be searched as a Logos edition bible (except for original language lemmas) and ditto for other types of PB you build. For tagging details see http://wiki.logos.com/Personal_Books  Appropriate types (bibles, commentaries, notes etc) can be used in the various Guides sections.
