Error: Preferred Bible changing, can't save setting...

I thought this was an issue on my iPad - see http://community.logos.com/forums/t/56696.aspx .

And I see another user has observed the same problem today - see http://community.logos.com/forums/t/54551.aspx . I thought a dedicated thread might get this more visibility.

I'm seeing the same thing as Raymond Cabrera in the just-referenced thread. I thought I had a problem on the iPad app -
see my thread in that forum. But now I notice that Android is setting
my preferred to Bible to NIV 1984 instead of ESV.

I can
see how/where to change it on that phone, but I can't figure out how to
"save" that setting change. I go to that settings screen and change it
to ESV. But there's no "save" button that I can see, and the only way I
can find to get out of that screen is to hit the physical "back" button.
Unfortunately, that seems to be acting like "Cancel" - if I go
immediately back into the settings screen, it's back to "NIV". How do we
get this setting "saved"? (no bad Christian puns, please... ;)

This setting apparently syncs to my iPad (instead of the other
way, unfortunately) because after a few minutes my iPad gets the setting
even though it had been set to ESV.

HTC Thunderbolt running Android 2.3.4 and Logos 2.0.11.

Thanks,

Donnie

I started having the exact same problem today, except mine is defaulting to NKJV.  The NKJV is not a translation I routinely use and it is nowhere in the "Priortize" list in my library in desktop Logos, which makes it even weirder that my Android Logos is defaulting to NKJV.

I'm experiencing the same problems on 2 devices, Google's Nexus(Jelly Bean) 7 and Android's(4.0.4) Razr phone.

Preferred bible has been changed in both devices to NIV84, and unable to change to previous preferred bible(NKJV).

Text comparison is using a completely different set of bibles(some are not even resident on my devices) than my preferred

bibles listed in my Windows based laptop.

I messed around and found the same issue - but reverting to NLT when my desktop preferred is ESV.

Worst still, if I go Offline it won't show what my preferred bible is ("Unavailable when offline")

    Definitely a bug

I have the same problem on both my Galaxy S3 4G phone (Jelly Bean) and my ASUS Transformer 101 Tablet (Ice Cream). Keeps reverting to NLT despite the preferred Bible on my desktop being ESV. No matter how many times I correct it in the Android settings on both devices nothing changes. I agree - definitely a bug!

It appears to have been fixed i.e. I can set preferred but I observe it switch from NLT to my bible each time I go to Settings!

The bug aspect is that, when offline, it still shows "Unavailable when offline" rather than show my preferred bible and then show a message if I attempt to change it.

If it shows NLT each time you to back to Settings, how do you know you've actually set it. I can change it while I'm on the Settings screen. But if I leave the Settings screen (and the only way I've found to do that is via the physical 'Back' button on my Thunderbolt), I don't know for sure if the change was saved. When I go back into Settings, it's back to NIV. It appears not to have actually saved my changed setting because a few moments later, the preferred Bible on my iPad will change to NIV.

I'm not sure why changing it to ESV on my iPad doesn't sync to my phone.

I'm a bit frustrated that no one from Logos has commented in this thread.

I see now that a Logos representative did reply in this thread: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/56696.aspx .

That's where I saw it had apparently been fixed for iOS and went to check it on my Android.

My phone now shows NLT as Preferred. Sorry, now it shows nothing and I did nothing...

    Still a bug!

It's been working for me since yesterday, from the time I checked after the Logos rep's response. Hopefully it's working for you by now, too.

Thanks, it has settled down to showing ESV when online.
