I entered a word ("fiction") into the library's filter box and I was surprised to see how many books came up. Turns out most of the matches were on community tags, plus the community tags column wasn't visible so it wasn't apparent at first why the books were matching the filter.
Now I use tags to quickly filter books, and if the community tags become "polluted" with similar tags, it's going to become much harder to use filters. "Fiction" is a poor example, because I agreed with all the books that had it, but I can think of other possible tags which would cause problems. I'd like to be able to exclude community tags.
There's not an easy way to exclude community tags from being searched. If I want to exclude community tags, I'm going to have to list all the fields I want to search instead of just typing a word. For example, if I want to search for "history" in all fields except for community tags, I have to enter "title:history OR subject:history OR mytag:history", whereas previously, I could just enter "history". (In fact, since there is no way to specify the book description, I can't effectively exclude only community tags without also excluding the book description).
If there was a "Search Community Fields" flag on the library window menu that I could check/uncheck, it would be very helpful. I would probably would want this switch in the Collection definition, too.
Also, as an example of pollution in community tags, this book is community-tagged as "read". That's not going to be too helpful:
