exegetical view
I currently use the PC version and am tablet shopping. In the PC version I really enjoy the option of having both the exegetical view and the correspinding Bible verses and commentaries on the screen at the same time. Does the iPad app have a similar feature?

if you mean by "exegetical view" the "Exegetical Guide," no, that is a feature only on the PC/Mac versions. The iPad and Android versions do have the "Passage Guide." Was that what you were referring to?

I dont have my laptop in front of me. I am referring to the section of the home screen where it shows Bible text and if you drag your mouse over words, you get additional Greek/Hebrew info, and other things. To be able to see that and Bibole verses simultaneously would be stellar. My laptop will be croaking soon, so I am looking at replacement options. One of them is having a desktop and a tablet, as opposed to a powerful laptop.

That's called the "exegetical guide" in L4… that functionality isn't (currently) in the mobile app.
My laptop will be croaking soon, so I am looking at replacement options. One of them is having a desktop and a tablet, as opposed to a powerful laptop.
The mobile app is fantastic for reading, highlighting, and taking short notes while reading. I would not consider it ideal for "serious" study for any number of reasons including screen space, inability to use guides offline, etc. I love the mobile app and use it every single day… but it doesn't replace L4.

You can execute a Bible Word Study from any Bibles with a Reverse Interlinear, so you can access word info that way. Not as thurough as desktop but it does help.

Brian, using your ipad, and with a Bible open that has a built in reverse interlinear with Logos (see below for a full list), you can
- select your word of interest (say "earth" in Genesis 1),
- press on it with your finger to open up several options: copy, look up, search, share, highlight note.
- Select "look up," which then gives you some grammatical information (text rendering, MSS original language, lemma, morphology, Strong's. If you have a non-interlinear (such as the ISV), you will only see the Webster's definition for the English word.
- If you select Bible Word Study, a BWS will open in your other split screen viewer. It looks like the Logos 4 Bible word study with the segmented circle displaying the semantic range. Or, you can
- Select "search which opens the search function panel to your left, and you can search your library, part of your library (like collections), or you can perform a Bible search and search Bibles for occurrences of that English word.
You must be online for this function to work. Below is a sreenshot of Logos interlinears. Does that help?
