Really enjoying that the note/highlight now defaults to the last used file instead of the first one in the list [:)] That is SUCH a time saver!

Glad to see this. Was toying around with this feature in L4 & on my iPad the other day only to find out that I couldn't do the same on my Nexus 7. Now I can! [:)]

What device are you using to see this? I do not see this function on the Kindle Fire.

Nexus 7 & Galaxy Nexus. I created a test note in each in my "Personal Commentaries" note file, and then I tried to create another note & the file defaulted to that one, instead of "1 Corinthians" (the first one listed alphabetically), as it had been doing.
I just checked this again, and it's still defaulting to the last note file used, even after switching to another file.

So far on the Kindle Fire, all I have done is highlight in a resource that I have been reading. It has not defaulted to the last used note file. I will have to try to create a note and then see what happens.

The very first time I created a note in the new beta it was set to my first note (1 Corinthians), but after changing it to another file (Personal Commentary), it stayed kept that note file selected on subsequent notes until I changed it to another one. Hope that clarifies things a bit. Also, this is for notes, and apparently doesn't work the same way with highlights, unfortunately [:(] (I just tried)

It appears that highlights default to whatever palette that highlight is associated with, instead of a particular note file. So, it appears that there is an inconsistency between notes & highlighting and the note file that it selects upon new note/highlight creation.

Just FYI
Everything works beautifully on Transformer Prime, running Android 4.+ Thanks so much for making notes editable. I feel complete now.
One suggestion would be to have a home key on the second pane as well. It's really more of a convenience thing than it is anything else.

Yes, highlights are designed to operate that way. On a scale of 1-10 how important would a setting be to allow it to use the last note document instead?

For me it would be a 10. That is the way they work on the IOS side and I love using it, since I tend to highlight more than I note.

I'd probably say an 8. It's not a deal breaker by any means, but an option would be nice along with making it consistent with the iOS version.
