Given how slow the website is and how impatient customers are I thought I should flag this:
Notice recommended RAM: 6GB+.
Has anyone tested L5 with the minimum 2GB RAM? (Especially interested in Mac.)
Yes, it is slow. Thanks for this info!
Here's another one people need to be aware of:
Intel i3 (first gen) with 2gb of ram.
Its about the same I think... Maybe slightly slower. I've been contemplating upgrading the ram for a while... perhaps its time
Hi!
Are there some changes in the minimum system requirements in Logos 5 compared to Logos 4.6.? I couldn't find the Logos 4 specs anymore.
My laptop's video card has just 256MB of RAM (ATI Mobility Radeon HD3470) that is below the Logos 5 minimum requirements. It runs Logos 4 OK. Will it run Logos 5? (Other specs of my laptop exceeds the minimum requirements easily).
Has anyone tested L5 with the minimum 2GB RAM?
I'm running it with 2 GB RAM on my Acer Extensa (single-core Intel Celeron, 2.2 GHz) under Win 7 32bit. I haven't thoroughly tested/benchmarked it, but it feels snappier than L4 4.6. For me it's fast enough, but I'm not a heavy user.
The Mac guys are full of praise, as far as I could see through the various forums.
The minimum requirements contain a typo (it should be "512MB", not "2512MB"). It also seems a little high to me; there really shouldn't be any problem using a 256MB card. On my system right now, running Logos 5 and several other applications, the total video memory used is 131MB, jumping up to 170MB if I open Bible Facts to a map. I think if your computer ran Logos 4 well, it shouldn't have any problems running Logos 5.
Can I suggest your best upgrade would be a solid state hard drive. You can have a blazing processor but the bottleneck is always the HD.
Has anyone tried L5 on XP? Maybe the Installer checks Windows version before starting....
I'm actually wondering if L actually used DX10 let alone DX11?? There is no hard graphics that would require DX10 let alone DX11 (which is still fairly new technology). 1GB of RAM is a lot on graphics cards esp on low end machines.
They also should state that if you have more than 4GB of ram, you need 64bit windows.
I little slower, but not dramatically slow and unusable. I have L5 on an ASUS 1015PN Atom processor with 2GB RAM w/o SSD (I have a standard HDD on the netbook).
Oh. I'm on W7 32bit
L5 will not run on XP.
There are checks in place to prevent downloads and installations being attempted

Thx. Oh well, it was worth a try.... :-|
