Tip: Use a "Root" only Bible Word Study
This tip is very simple, but I find myself using it all the time now, so I thought I would share it.
Create a new Bible Word Study and add only the "Root" tool. I named it "BWS - Root".
Now, when you right click on a word and select Lemma, you can very quickly do a "Root" study, with no need to scroll down to the Root tool. This is extremely useful to get a feel for the semantic range of a word.
Here is an example of how this looks (although in this example I am right clicking on a Hebrew word, it works right clicking on a word in the Reverse Interlinear English Bibles as well):
Now the "BWS - Root" Bible Word Study opens right to the Root tool, with no need to scroll to compare all the roots and get a better feel for the semantic range of the word, learn new vocabulary, etc.
Now we just need Logos to allow us to "Send hyperlinks here" for Bible Word Studies, so that a new tab isn't opened each time a BWS is opened.

Nice tip! I see you have BWS - Senses and BWS - Translation too.

Good eye! [Y]
Same idea, the Translation tool is so useful, oftentimes it's all you want to get a feel for the different meanings of a single word (as opposed to the semantic field in the Roots tool). And the Senses tool can give you an idea of related words that are not of the same root.
I find I usually am interested in just one of those tools... so why see all of them? [:)]

The idea of a 'target' for BWS is a good one.
In the mean time, I use my other accidental 'tip' and that is that Logos always puts searches and BWS's in a specific panel number. Once I found that out, I put my library, search(targeted), etc in that panel. The new BWS's always land there in a row (tabs lined up).
Your tips really show how exciting Logos5 looks to be.

I don't quite follow this. Can you explain it a bit further?
Thanks,

This is a great tip. In figuring it out, it made me see the general improvements in the L5 BWS, too. I think it's now good enough that I won't need to do it the more manual way that I used to do it (at least quite a bit of the time).

Donnie, I usually work with about 5 literal windows (4 in addition to the one shown below). I found that on a right-click BWS, it always puts the results in the same panel on the first window (red square shown below). The panel appears to be the 3rd or 4th one created for a layout. It's easiest to just open a bunch of panels and watch where Logos sticks the BWS's and searches. Once I identified the panel that BWS always went to, then I simply put that panel convenient for me, and added my Library view, plus targeted-searches (circled tabs below). The OP's suggestion would be even better, but my approach works well as a work-around, since it's predicatable. When I'm not using targeted-searches, all the searches also get automatically put in this panel as well (all in a row).

Glad it was helpful. I think Logos is so flexible that it is a great idea to share tips among us...

Thank you for the tip, DMB. I would like the BWS to have the option of "Send BWS Here" like the "Send Hyperlinks Here" in other resources. I don't always need a bunch of BWS windows open, but this option would let me choose, like I can with the search function.

I agree - almost posted the exact same suggestion.
