My church is listed incorrectly

My church is listed as University Bible Church which is our technical corporate name, but our DBA is Grace Bible Church and that is what we are known by.

This is confusing. Nobody in my church except the elders even know that we are technically University Bible Church.

Is there a way for a pastor or some other leader at a church to take control of the church's identity on Faithlife and make it more accurate?

Can you just add your church?

If the group is unclaimed, you can request to claim the group by clicking on the "Claim this group" link on the right hand side of the groups page. Once approved you should be able to administer the group by going to the groups page and clicking on the "Group settings" link where you can change the group name and nick name.

If you are already an admin of the group you can go directly to that groups "Group settings".

Richard would this apply in our case?

Our church moved to a new location 18 months ago that had been vacant for nearly 2 years. The building had previously been occupied by another church ministry that moved to a new location but has seemingly disbanded and closed. (We have been unsuccessful in contacting them for a forwarding address for mail we receive periodically.)

What is the best protocol? The Faithlife group appears to be unclaimed. Should I just claim the group and make the name and contact number change?

Paul, it sounds like you should go ahead and claim that group as Richard described if it does indeed identify your church and just has old information. If there is a problem in the claiming process, a customer service rep. will contact you and you can fill them in on your situation.

We used the most current data we could to pre-populate the group data, but it gets more stale and out-of-date everyday they go unclaimed...

Thank you, David, for the quick reply. I have gone ahead and claimed it for our church.
