Which I-phone to use?
I'm considering to buy an I-phone especially for Logos
I've seen that there are many version with different sizes of hard disks. Can anyone tell me what I should buy for Logos to work properly?

iPhone doesn't have hard disk. It has a build-in flash memory of 8, 16, 32 GB. All of them will work great with the Logos app. I have 8GB iPhone of the 2nd generation (the newest is the 3rd one) One thing to consider is, when Logos would start to have an off-line version, you might need some considerable space available for that. It depends how much space you use for music, photos etc.

Make sure you get one that is 3GS as it will have all the latest features. And then just get the one with the most storage you can afford. 8 GB is 200 bucks and 16 is 300. If you don't want a phone, you can get an iPod Touch which goes up to 32 and I think even 64 but is much more money but won't have the monthly AT&T bill. However, you will have to be within reach of wifi to use it. Another consideration is ask if you have 3G network in your area yet. That will drastically effect the speed of the program. It is almost useless on AT&T's edge network in my area. Some places do not have 3G still, like mine.

I know there is a 64 GB Kevin, but cannot remember if it is the iPod, iTouch, or both.
Regardless, I just wanted to mention that the required storage space is not a function of Logos, but the fun of having everything else that uses it.
My understanding of Logos 4 on the iPhone is that the resources are on their servers; not your device, so there is no need for storage for your apps. I imagine that there is some small footprint for accessing your resources, but you load via WiFi, when you invoke the app.
If I am incorrect, please everyone, rush to prove me wrong. (I like feeling like Council meetings.)

Dan, you are correct about the storage of the books in the Logos iPhone app. But what the post above was saying that in the future, there is hope that they will let them be locally stored and then storage becomes an issue.
As for sizes if there is a 64 then it is definitely an iPOD and not the iPHONE. I looked very carefully at the iPhone before purchasing my 8 and there is only a 16. It does not get any bigger on the phone side. Not sure why the difference.

I'm looking into the phones now, and I'm offered a contract with 100 MB free usage.
Can anyone tell me what this means, and how much I would need?
I understand that I need to connect to the internet to open the book I want to read, but do I have to stay connected to the internet whilst I'm reading, or is it a matter of downloading the book, and then disconnect?Mat 6:33

you have to stay connected...sorta. The Iphone caches ahead a couple of pages so that it stays smooth. Once your done with the pages you've cached, you would have to reconnect. If you flip through the pages it will store more pages, then go back to where you started and read some. I don't know how much it caches though. I believe Logos said the Iphone decides.
I don't know enough about the Iphone to give you advise on plans, though.

Is there anyone who can tell me what it means that my provider offers me 100MB in my contract for internet.
Is this enough for Logos on Iphone?

There IS an iPhone with the 32 GB memory. If it is here in the Czech Republic, I assume it should be in the US also. Or, may be, we are specially privileged by Apple. [:)]

When did they release that? Not when I bought mine in June because I know it was 8 or 16 then.

That would be the iPhone 3G (2nd generation). The iPhone 3G S is only available in 16 or 32gb.

Yeah, I'm getting old or senile or both. Mine is a 16 and I knew it was the smaller of the two available but I was thinking I had an 8 GB so I assumed incorrectly that the biggest was double what I had. I was right that it is double what I had but I forgot what I had. It is a 3G S.
