Warning About Favorites

Hi all,

I just had a terrible shock. All of your information is not backed up on the Logos server. I accidentally deleted my favorites. Now for most people this would not be a problem. However, for me it is a very big problem. I basically indexed my whole computer through favorites. I had hundreds of hours of work there. I had all of my notes indexed there. And so much more. Favorites are not backed up on the server. This leads me to wonder what else is not backed up. All of the documents are backed up. You can un-delete them from the documents menu at the very bottom.

I was on the phone as soon as I turned off use internet. I talked to tech support level 1 and 2. The level 2 was able to retrieve a file from about 6 months ago when I cloned my drive to put a SSD drive in my laptop. I have Carbonite but Logos was not marked to back up. So use a back up utility often. I will mark Logos for back up.

Now, I get to recreate the wheel (favorites).

In Christ,

David

David, I am not sure what backed up means with Logos. It seems that documents are now in some way backed up (at least the deleted ones are stored). They have given us no tools for backing up and restoring locally (a sore point with me). The data for favorites is definitely on the Logos servers (which is why they had a copy, albeit old) but it is dynamic, so if you eliminate any of them they are gone forever.

So keeping your data files is a good idea, but restoring them might occasionally require Logos' help. I've had trouble with that.

Sorry you have lost so much effort.

I am sure you know where the data is on a PC. But for the record it is as follows.

Favorites is the last one. "David" is my user name on my PC.
