Bug: Greek Characters Missing

The new default font replaces circumflex accents, breathing marks, and additional characters with boxes. In addition, it misaligns accents. The last font (SBL Greek, as I recall) handled polytonic Greek with ease and was particularly attractive on my smartphone.

Could you please post screenshots for us? We have found a few issues with the font, but would like to make sure we address the ones you are seeing as well.

I just loaded SBL Greek NT and there are no font problems. I then downloaded it onto my HTC Evo and there are still no font troubles.

Thanks for pointing this out. The SBLGNT is also working for me although I noticed that characters are missing not only from Greek texts but from lexicons such as BDAG. As for grammars, Runge's grammar displays Greek well, but both Wallace's grammar and Roberton's grammar are missing characters.

In regard to screenshots, unfortunately my phone does not have this capability due to both its model and its Android version. There is an app that overcomes this problem, but it costs money and would require connecting my phone to my computer, which tends to cause problems with my SD card. Perhaps someone with a more recent version of Android would be willing to help out.

Understood, no problem. (Though, on the Evo 3D, pressing the home and power buttons simultaneously will generate a screenshot -- this youtube video looks like it demonstrates that http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CcC8gfek_c -- note if you meant 3G instead of 3D, I don't think this will work).

Without screenshots, could you specify an exact location in the resource that you are seeing missing characters and incorrect accents/marks (e.g. "the fourth word after verse 1")?

For example, Rupert, I'm not seeing any boxes in the title line of UBS4 (I assume you mean on the first page in the resource?).

We'll go back to using SBL Greek for this release, until we can address the issues with this new font.
