Method 2 Installation
Has anyone done Method 2 Installation on Logos 5? I have done it on L4 with my laptop but not sure if there would be any changes for L5.

I have an install on of L5 on my Desktop. I am now trying to get it on my laptop.
I did the install but where I am having the problem is with the indexing. The above method worked for me with L4.

Steve, I have not tried it, but I do believe it will work. Give it a try. You wouldn't be out much.

With Logos 5 being an upgrade, will the box come up show where I can check custom install (see below)
- Backup the ...\Logos4 folder from a working installation to an external drive
- Install Logos 4 from http://downloads.logos.com/LBS4/Installer/Logos4Setup.exe (install Logos 5 from the Upgrade link on your Order page)
- if you want to install a beta version use the link from the Beta forum
- select Custom installation and uncheck “Automatically Download Updates”
- change the installation folder (eg. E:\, C:\Users\username) or leave as default.
- immediately exit the Logos4 Sign-in window after the installation has finished
- if the window does not appear go to the next Step
- Copy the following folders from backup to the new installation (first delete any existing folder)
- \Logos4\Data
- \Logos4\Documents
- \Logos4\Users
- Start L4 and sign-in
- Open some resources. If you get the message “This resource is no longer in your library”:-
- enter scan <path to backup resources> in the Command box
- restart L4
- it will take a several minutes to discover your resources

Can I also just roll back the system to the L4 installation I had on the computer, and just start from there?

If L4 is installed then L5 will install in its place, so you will not get a Custom option.

No - this will create problems
Is this related to the problem with indexing you mention in the first post? Tell me what you've done to get to this point.

Would I delete the current logos install all completely and then use the install file from by email?

I had L4 on my laptop.
I installed the silver upgrade, and the minimal upgrade. It began indexing afterwards. The indexer stops.
My problem is with the indexing. I've always had to use method 2 to get Logos on the laptop.

As you've already installed L5 then start from Step 3 of Method 2.
