Updated To Logos 5 But Still Shows Logos 4

Hi,

I decided to invest even more money into Logos today by upgrading to Logos 5 from Logos 4.

The instructions say that all I needed to do was re-open Logos 4 and the updates would download and then install.

I went through a fairly sizable download (around 250Mb) and then did a re-index and then re-started my system.

However, when I open up Logos, it still says "Logos Bible Software 4".

To be exact ... "Logos Bible Software 4.6a SR-2 (4.61.0.3360)"

So, my question is .... what else should I do?

It looks like Logos has downloaded the resources, but not the program. I'm not able to post the URL to the program here, but if you check your email, it should say:

    View your order summary to
    manually download Logos 5

And then give a link you can use. If you can't see that, go to http://www.logos.com/user/orders and click on your Logos 5 order, and then you should see a download link.

Ok ... The guy on the phone told me that if I already had L4 installed then I wouldn't need to do that.

He's right, you shouldn't. But when it doesn't work automatically, that's the easiest way to fix it. (You need Mac OS 10.6 or above, by the way. If you're running 10.5, it won't upgrade.)

    Ok ... no problem.

I now see in my account online that the "Logos 5 Minimal Crossgrade" is listed as being free for me, yet the sales staff charged me $160 for this just today.

    Sigh .....

It shows as free because you already own it.  That way you can't accidentally purchase it again.

All the base packages at the same or lower level than what you own show up with a $0 cost.  I own Silver now, and Silver, Bronze, Starter and Minimal Crossgrade all show a $0 cost on my upgrade page.

Did you get your problem resolved?  I am having the same issue.

Curious about "same" issue since noted a couple possibilities in this thread.

The Logos 5 for OS X application is named "Logos Bible Software 5" while the Logos 4 Mac application is "Logos Bible Software 4" so both applications can be installed in the Applications folder and have dock icons.  Caveat: both applications use the same Logos4 folder so only one application is usable for one OS X user.

Since Logos has not released the free Logos 5 engine (sometime next year), need to use Orders page => https://www.logos.com/user/orders OR order email for link to download OR use update now command in Logos 4 Mac.
