How do I know if my down load occurred? My understanding was there is supposed to be a new look and feel. My home screen still has "Logos Bible Software 4" above the menu bar.
Then the download has not occurred. When everything is said and done, your app will say Logos Bible Software 5.
Type "Update Now" without quotes into your Logos command bar. It should download all your new resources and affect the Logos 5 install over your Logos 4.
I did what you suggested and received a message "no updates available"
Can you go to the logos website; click on your user name; click on "0rders"; click on the blue order # for your update and there should be an orange button labeled "Download for PC" clicking that will install the new engine over your existing engine and should trigger all the other resource downloads.
After purchasing the Minimum Crossgrade, and after launching Logos 4, the software program should automatically download the upgrade components (Logos 5 engine, databases, new resources). If nothing happened, then check your settings: Are you working offline? Do you have Automatically Download Updates set to Yes. Is Use Internet set to Yes?
If download of L5 still does not occur, check your Order on the Logos website. Does your account show that the purchase went through?
If everything checks out, and your Logos 4 still does not download your purchase, contact Logos technical support.
Another possible method: I don't know what happens to your existing Logos 4 program and resources if you manually install L5 yourself by downloading the L5 engine. You might end up downloading and re-index all your resources and everything. That could take hours of time.
However, you can make a backup of your existing Logos 4 folder (or just the folders named Data, Documents, and Users) and follow Method #2 or Method #3 of Quick Installation onto multiple computers in the Wiki. Today, I made a backup copy of my entire Logos 5 folder from one computer. Then, I completely uninstalled and removed Logos 5 on another computer. I logged into my account on the Logos website, clicked on my order number for my Logos 5 purchase, and downloaded the L5 installation file on the second computer. I followed Method #2 in the Wiki procedure mentioned above. Once the L5 engine was installed (without updating anything through the internet), I moved my backup folders Data, Documents, and Users to the new Logos 5 folder on this second computer. After I signed into Logos 5 and waited a few minutes for it to synchronize with my settings, It worked for me on my Windows 7 Ultimate 64 machine.
You should give that a try if you feel confident about installing Logos using either Method that is not supported by Logos.

Okay I did what you all said but I think this upgrade was not explained clearly to me. I currently have Logos 4 Scholar - Gold I wanted to upgrade to Logos 5 same version. I would not upgrade to logos 5 for the features and go to a smaller library. If this is what happened then I would like to reinstall logos 4 Scholar Gold.
Every single resource you had in L4 Gold should still be there
You keep everything you had before, and get the new things from the new package. Your library will not get smaller, it will only grow.
Can you tell me if my entire library is upgraded to work with Logos 5? What I see on the upgrade package is only a portion of my library. The website does not provide very good information. And for some reason the site say I own Logos 5 but it has not installed.

The upgrade page talks about what is included in the various updated packages - including showing what is newly included in a base package and what resources are new to you.
All of your existing resources will be available and continue to work in L5
