What Greek font do you use?

When I looked in Greek new testament today I saw the Greek font had changed, The Greek Theta had changed to a squiggle version of the Theta. I have seen this before and was curious to why it happened. I presume it was because I upgraded to Logos 5. I was able to change it back to normal via Greek font settings.

This is what I normally see θεόν, καὶ θεὸς

I am unable to paste the squiggle version because neither word or this website support that font.

Has anyone else encountered this?

Who would use the squiggle version of the Theta?

Gentium. It's the bestest.

It's a mess. I suppose it was chosen because of its cursive look.

I switch back and forth between KadmosU and the new SBL font. The strokes are little heavier and more vertical on the KadmosU but the lighter stroke and slight rightward slant to the SBL font seem to give more white-space and seem a little more soothing to me when the eyes are tired. It's a completely different story when I type. I use Gentium then since I only have to change the keyboard not keyboard and font. I'm not crazy about the KadmosU Latin characters. I heard that the SBL font set will soon contain Latin character set as well so I may change the typing side as well.

I use GentiumAlt. I prefer my circumflex accents to be round, not squiggly.

If I copy from Logos into MS Word on my PC, and then give the document to a student who opens it on a Mac, the font may not display or print correctly. Is there a Greek font that's more likely to work on different platforms?

As long as it's a Unicode font and not an ASCII (8 bit) font, you don't have to worry. All Unicode fonts use the same character set mappings. That means that a Unicode font that has a complete Greek character set will map correctly to any other Unicode font that supports Greek.

I use either SBL Greek or Gentium for Greek on the Mac OS. On a related note, MS Word for Mac will not recognize SBL Hebrew.

And I agree that Skolar is a very ugly font

Discovered that when trying to locate SBL Hebrew in the fonts menu. Then found that news somewhere on the internet.
