iPad Won't Stop Downloading All Resources
I accidently clicked on the Downloaded All Resources on my iPad, which does not have the space to hold all of my resources. I canceled the downloads but each time I close out and get back in, or scroll through the library it tries to download all my resources again. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the application multiple times. I have submitted a report of the issue twice through the in-app support but it has been weeks with no response. Has anyone had this trouble before, if so, how did you fix it?

Hi Daniel. Welcome to the forums. Sorry you are having troubles.
While you wait for a fix, have you tried using the Vyrso app? It has less features, but will allow you to highlight and take notes...
When I was beta testing, the app used to ask if you wanted to redownload your resources. Is it not giving you that dialog box?

Something Similar, or along those lines, I hit cancel but that didn't fix it. I am using the Vyrso app in the meantime, I was just hoping someone knew of this issue and how to resolve it.

I am in the same boat. My iPad app continually downloads books. And I mean continually. I've rebooted my. iPad. When I bring up the app it tells me that some downloaded books cannot be found and asks me if I want to download them again. I click NO but it still is downloading books. When I check the library it shows the total number of books I own, something like 4500, and my only option is to "cancel downloads." So I cancel but when I restart the app it keeps downloading books. My guess is that for some reason it is trying to download all of my resources even tho I don't want that to happen.

I called support and they told me to send the information using the reporting system in the app itself, but this lead me back to my first post indicated I had already done this. Hopefully there will be a way to delete all from the library.

The app currently doesn't have a way to "Remove All" (but I will write up a case for this). I expect the issue you are having is a bug related to the new mobile download manager code, which was written for the purpose of allowing downloaded resources to sync across devices using the same Logos account - as well as to download previously downloaded resources after a fresh install. If the Cancel Downloads button doesn't work (or a negative answer to the dialog), it could be your account is in a disturbed state on the server side.

That is an excellent question. I just discovered the email I gave you is for internal only use, which I was unaware of until you asked that "silly" question of yours. I will write up a case to correct this and another case to change the default email in the mobile apps to elicit more direct communication with our mobile customers.

Same problem here. Just deleted the app and reinstalled. It is automatically downloading all resources...I just want to download a few resources.

I called Tech Support yesterday with the same problem. After some checking they told me to wait until the next update. Great.

Hi,
Just wanted to add that I had reported a related issue here several weeks ago. I would echo Garrett's suggestion to "cancel downloads" as soon as the application lauches and you gain control on the iPad. Of course this is only temporary, but you may have some breathing room until a fix is provided. If you have allowed the download process to proceed the only suggestion I would offer is to delete the application and reload. Then make sure you cancel downloads as soon as possible going forward. Perhaps you can select the appropriate resources to download once you have canceled the initial process.
It's a starting point for now. My two cents.

Don't reinstall the app at this point. Check the app size using your iOS Settings | General | Usage | Storage. Write down the file size. When you have the time, (perhaps while watching the news?), allow the app to crash 5-6 times and then recheck the app size.
Did you say earlier that you were out of storage space? How large is your device? Is there anything else you can dump? Did you send an email to Kevin as he suggested another user do? [Use the second email address, not the first]

Thanks for the welcome! yes did hit download all, but like others realised I would not enough space. I have 862 resources that keep trying to download so I have deleted the Logos app and use Vryso app instead

Logos was able to stop this issue with mine by resetting the resource sync information.

Some iOS apps have a setting under the main Settings page. The Logos app never did have one, but I see it now has an entry: currently only to start on Home page or not.
My thinking is that in some failure modes, turning on start-in-home-page might break it out of its state.
Also, I'm thinking the Developers could add an extra get-out-of-jail-free tags here. Maybe one to cancel downloads would be a great move. There might be a few other options that could go there if there was enough issues where it could be useful.
Some apps have such a flag to clear cache or downloaded content etc. Clearly it would not be ideal if someone could loss all their downloaded resources, but there might be times a "reset" of some kind here would be a far better solution that an uninstall/reinstall cycle.
Just thinking ... now that the tab has been added already, it should not be too hard to carefully add one or two extras to help out such as an ops to download all.

Leslie - if you don't get a response, feel free to contact Logos during business hours. Reference this thread if need be. Also note that you will need to delete the app... Which will cause you to lose your downloaded resources... (The ones you actually wanted to keep).
