Stop commentary from tracking with Bible
I am reading a book on my iPad (Opening up Ruth), and every time I read from my Bible on the iPad (ESV) then go back to "Opening up Ruth", it has synced to where I was reading in ESV. Is there a way I can stop this so I don't lose my place in the book? I have already tried tapping on the circle that you can drag up to create two panels, tap and hold and that and moved the slider "link panels" to off. The problem remains. Any help would be much appreciated!

Hl LaVerne - and welcome to the forums.
This sounds strange and it shouldn't work like you are describing.
I have just tried this on my iPad in split screen mode with the ESV on one side and "opening up Ruth" on the other.
When I have the panels linked they stay in step, when I unlink them the commentary stays still as I move through the Bible.
What version of the app do you have?

I'm not using split screen, I am just using one resource at at time. I use the Opening up Ruth, then go to library and select ESV. When I'm done in ESV I go to library and select Opening up Ruth. It will then be at a different place than it was when I last used it.

When I use the split screen view it works as I should, it's just when I use the normal view and go back and forth between books that it doesn't work properly.

Thanks for the clarification.
I have tried to reproduce this but can't. When I switch back to "opening up Ruth" it opens in the place as before.
Do you the same results when opening the resource from the library as when you go back to if through history?

Not it's doing something else. It seems the same whether I use history or library to get there. When I open the book about Ruth it says "Error loading book" "Could not load the specified book". But it does load it and it now stays at the place it's supposed to be. In other words, the only thing not working right now is that error message. I'm using version 3.1.1

No, it doesn't seem to make any difference if the resource is downloaded or not, I've tried it both ways.
