Logos 4 and now 5 crashes shortly after starting up

I installed Logos 5 today because Logos 4 was crashing and I was going to have to upgrade to 5 in a few weeks when my next seminary class starts.  Logos 4 and now 5 both started up and ran for a couple minutes, but then crashed.  My logs are attached.  I'm not a happy camper here since I have a major Logos research assignment due and all my work is in Logos, which I now cannot use. 5633.Logging.zip

The longest Logos 5 has run is now between 10 and 15 minutes, but the average runtime before a crash is 3 - 5.

Andy - Welcome to the forums… sorry you are having troubles. [:S]

I am not really a techie… I see that you have a corrupt database file somewhere. Unfortunately, I don't know which one. Often, deleting the offending database and allowing Logos to rebuild it will fix the problem… since I don't know which one, I am reluctant to send you messing around in there...

I don't know if this will fix the problem or not, but have you tried loading to a blank layout and building a new one from scratch? Press and hold command key upon startup… check the appropriate box.

Your analysis is correct; unfortunately, the log does not contain enough information to tell us which file is bad. I can tell you that it's one of the *.mstidx files in /Users/andy/Library/Application Support/Logos4/Data/f4ppgyaq.nmc/ResourceManager/logos; unfortunately, there are usually thousands of these files and pinpointing the exact one could be very difficult.

Tech Support (on Monday) may be able to help troubleshoot this issue (please refer them to this thread).

Or, you should be able to fix it (without reinstalling and redownloading your library) by doing the following:

    Delete the folder: /Users/andy/Library/Application Support/Logos4/Data/f4ppgyaq.nmc/ResourceManager/logos

    Delete the file: /Users/andy/Library/Application Support/Logos4/Data/f4ppgyaq.nmc/ResourceManager/ResourceManager.db

Restart Logos 5. It will need to re-prepare your entire library, and then will probably (I can't remember for sure) re-index it. This may take several hours or overnight, depending on the size of your library. However, your app should run without crashing in the morning.
