I use
Logos 4 for two reasons, daily religious
study and academic study, and my interests are Paul and the Apostolic Fathers. For the
former I use a layout with four equal sized areas:
Top Left Panel
- NRSV,
NASB95, NAB, ISV, NET
Top Right
Panel - NA27 wGRAMCORD Int, NA27 w/GRAMCORD,
ESV
Bottom Left
Panel - BETBFEN, Harper's BC, Collegeville BC, New BC, JFB, PFL:Gint, WWSGNT
Bottom Right
Panel - ESL, G-E Dict NT, DBL Greek, LN, EDNT, TDNT, BAGD, Anchor BD, Con
Oxford ED.
What do you
think of this layout? How could it be improved?
I discussed
upgrading to Logos 5 here, but I cannot see great advantages, so I think I will
wait to get the new free Logos 5 software.

Are there any useful resources I should add to what I have, given my aim
in this study?

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

If pasting in from Microsoft Word, you can strip out this junk by clicking the "Paste from Word" icon on the toolbar in the forum edit box (it looks like a clipboard with a Microsoft Word "W" icon superimposed on it), instead of pasting in directly with Ctrl+V.

To answer your original question, everyone sets up their own layouts the way they like them. So nobody else's preferred layout is necessarily going to be better for you than what you've come up with.
For Paul and Apostolic Fathers there are probably others resources you could consider buying if you want more academic material in your library:
There are a number of Paul collections:
Pauline Studies Library (35 vols.)
Fortress Press Paul Collection (16 vols.)
Pauline Studies Collection (10 vols.)
Perspectives on Paul Collection (8 vols.)
SPCK Pauline Studies Collection (3 vols.)
Lexham Bible Guides: Paul’s Letters Collection (13 vols.) - in pre-pub
Baker Academic Pauline Studies Collection (18 vols.) - in pre-pub
There's lots on the Apostolic Fathers, too.
You didn't mention what base package you have already from Logos 4. That might help shape what advice others users give you.

Rosie et al.
many thanks for all your friendly and constructive suggestions,
I use:
"Logos Bible Software 4.6a SR-3 (4.61.0.3378)
Copyright 2000–2012 Logos Bible Software
Licensed to: njfi******12@gmail.com (Original Languages (JG))".My major problem is I am very happy with what I have and want to focus on learning the Bible and Fathers , not the intricacies of Logos.
So I would welcome suggestions on how to improve what I do.
