Does the iPad app provide for a way to backup and restore your notes and highlights in case the app crashes or bugs out?

Brant, assuming you have used the same log in details on your iPad as you use on your Logos desktop, then all your notes and highlights will be synced across both platforms (and stored on Logos' servers.) Therefore, if ever you need to do a clean install of the Logos iOS app, on logging in it should make available all your old notes and highlights. Consequently, I don't think you need to do any manual type of back-up (perhaps other than backing up your ipad via iTunes or iCloud.)

Provided you register for a Logos account, your files and highlights should still sync and back up via the Logos servers.

You'll want to back up data separately to either a different computer or external hard drive so you can sync them with iTunes any time. This especially makes sense if the total size of your files exceed your iPad's available memory.

First, welcome to the forums! [:)]

There is no need for most users to backup Logos… it is all available from Logos in the cloud. Also, you can't save individual resources to an external hard drive. Have I missed something?

The process for restoring an iPad from an iCloud backup begins by wiping the iPad, which puts it into the same clean state it was when you first got it out of the box. But before you take this step, it is a good idea to make sure your iPad is being backed up to the iCloud.

You are right than an iCloud backup does wipe the device. Generally, however, there isn't a need to worry about any iCloud backups for the Logos app since Logos backs up the data on their servers anyways.
