Does anyone know if
is a good addition to Logos 4 Platinum? I already have the Logos hymnal, so what does this add?
I used it a lot in L 3, but have not been able to get it to play in L4. Instead of playing the hymn it asks if I want to save the midi file. I am hoping that the music files will be added to the library so that it works like it did in L 3 but I haven't checked to see it this is going to happen
Oops. I didn't answer your question. There is a larger variety of songs in Green's Hymnal, at least there was in L3.
Yeah, but its not working properly in L4 though? That makes a huge difference.
I spoke to the people at Logos about the Steve Green Midi Hymnal it is scheduled to be updated so the midi files will play in Logos 4. I think it is well worth the price just for The Psalms and Hymns of Isaac Watts which is included.
Thank you Michael. That is good news.
That is good news!
You are saying that Logos 4 Platinum has Steve Green's MIDI Hymnal? The comparison chart indicates "Logos Digital Hymnal", it does nt specify that this is Steve Green's MIDI Hymnal...please clarify....Thanks.
Does the Steve Green collection come with sheet music?
No.
Platinum does not contain the Steve Green MIDI Hymnal. It is only available as a separate purchase.
No, it does not.
It does contain midi files, but these are not playable in L4 yet.
No Platinum doesn't have it - I have Platinum and was thinking of purchasing it - sorry for the confusion.
But the Logos Hymnal does have sheet music that can be printed. Steve Green's does not? You probably already answered this, but I am just wanting clarification. If not, then I probably won't buy it.
No. No sheet music in the Steve Green MIDI Hymnal. Lyrics are there, and are therefore searchable, there is also a topic search capability, but I'm not sure how good it is (as I've not used that feature).
If you have some MIDI music software (e.g., Noteworthy, which I have) you can import the midi file and generate the music. But then you'd have to also enter the lyrics and divide all the syllables to make it line up properly. The up side is that you can easily transpose the music to something easier to play for guitarists, or for something that works with non-C instruments. But that requires a skill set that is way off-topic for Logos.
The midi hymns from Steve Greens Midi Hymnal are now playing through L4. I don't know when it was fixed, but as of yesterday they were working. It's still not integrated like it was in L3. The Music which is displayed for a verse does not include the Steve Green midi's. I reindexed hoping they would appear in the music list, but it did not help.
