I wanted to copy and paste a verse from a hymn into a message. But when I pulled up the song, it wouldnt let me copy paste anything. Is this by design?
Peace, Robert! *smile*
It worked for me ... I right-clicked ............... hit "copy" , then pasted it into a Wlord 2010 document... Actually came out just perfect! .................... Always Joy in the Lord!
Robert, when one right-clicks, one can also "save" the document as a .png picture file ....
That way one might keep the song on one's hard drive ...... I think the file going to Word 2010 is probably a .png file, eh???
So you were able to hightlight a verse and copy? I only want one verse. I cannot highlight it in the right bar and just copy a verse and chorus. I don't want the entire sheet.
*Edit*
Also note, the method you are using copies it as an image. Not as editable text. [^o)]

The main portion of what you're looking at is an image of a hymn book page. To the right are some notes, including the verses. I was able to copy/paste a verse from the text section into Word. In fact, I'll paste it here too: "On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross, The emblem of suff'ring and shame; And I love that old cross where the dearest and best For a world of lost sinners was slain."
Are you not able to do that?
EDIT: I see that you are not able to do what I suggested. What version of Logos5 are you using? Also Mac or Windows?
Peace, Robert! What you want is impossible. That resources is a picture! You would have to OCR it to be able to separate the verses (stanzas!) Blessing. Sorry, when I first answered I didn't realise you just wanted one stanza. Personally, I'd try Google for a myriad of appropriate web pages! *smile*
On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross,The emblem of suffering and shame; And I love that old cross where the dearest and bestFor a world of lost sinners was slain.RefrainSo I’ll cherish the old rugged cross,Till my trophies at last I lay down;I will cling to the old rugged cross,And exchange it some day for a crown.O that old rugged cross, so despised by the world,Has a wondrous attraction for me;For the dear Lamb of God left His glory aboveTo bear it to dark Calvary.RefrainIn that old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine,A wondrous beauty I see,For ’twas on that old cross Jesus suffered and died,To pardon and sanctify me.RefrainTo the old rugged cross I will ever be true; Its shame and reproach gladly bear; Then He’ll call me some day to my home far away,Where His glory forever I’ll share.Refrain
@Richard, Logos 5, Mac
So on windows you can copy paste the text from the right column? Great. Another Mac "feature".
@Milford, as I said, I know it is a picture. And if I hadn't paid 800 for a high functioning app that wont allow me to copy paste, I used Google (free fyi). The whole idea is that this should function and allow me to do it.
Milford, it is possible to copy/paste from the section on the right. I did it a bit ago from this song: "On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross, The emblem of suff'ring and shame; And I love that old cross where the dearest and best For a world of lost sinners was slain."
What I don't know is whether this is a Mac/Windows thing, or something else.
Here's a picture of what I'm able to do.
Is this Logos 5.0a? 5.0a added a number of copy/paste options that 5.0 didn't have, though I don't see this particular issue addressed.
I don't remember seeing elsewhere that this feature is not available on Mac. If not, it should be reported.
It is 5.0a
I added a BUG post on the Forum.
Thanks Richard & Milford for helping!
you could always search for the hymn on the internet and copy the verse you want that way. that is what I often do.
The point as I made earlier Ken, is I shouldn't have to. I paid good money for the app. It should work as it did for Richard.
Thanks!
Robert,
I understand your point. Sometimes it is just not worth the frustration trying to figure out why it works for one and not for another and just go to another source to get it done.
Having Logos do many things for me in a matter of seconds that used to take hours to do in a brick and mortar library is just a blessing that is beyond compare.

%Richard! %Robert! Wow! What can I say??? As I get older I should be more knowlegeable and patient, not less. I often mess things up and need to apologise as I do now! I'm sorry I was in too much of a hurry to respond to Robert originally and to move on to another post.
Haste makes waste! Richard, Thank You! How many times over the years have you given me a positive boost on these Logos Forums and the Olde Logos Newsgroups! *smile* I am grateful indeed, especially for your carefulness. This is one more time you came to the aid of your colleague!
Number 1 - I should have figured out that with Logos 5.0a that I myself should have been able to copy from the right side as you did, Richard.
Number 2 - Robert, is it possible that there is NO BUG here??? When I look at your original post, it almost looks to me like you might have been able also to copy from the right side any of the stanzas you desired............. Am I wrong again! ??? *smile* Blessings! ... and ...Always Joy in the Lord!
Correct Milford. Wrong again, LOL. I cannot copy from the right column on my Mac. Logos 5.0a.
Thanks, Robert! Your information is much appreciated! Now I'm pretty sure that I'm not totally "losing it"! *smile*
