Samsung Note II, S3
I'm contemplating one of these two phones. Does anyone have wisdom they could share with me on how Logos is doing on either? For instance, will a tablet version work on the Note? Is there too much viewing space, or just right?

I have the S3, and my brother has the Note 1.
To me, the biggest difference is how much screen real-estate you have, and how easy it is to hold in your hands. Really, you're asking between screen size large and screen size giant.
With the Note, you might feel funny for a while holding it to your face to use it as a phone, but my brother says he got used to it and loves the device. Be aware, it will be very difficult to do tasks one-handed (i.e. hold it in your hand and reach across to the other side of the screen with your thumb). That's not to say the S3 is small by any means, though (I have pretty large hands and it's still impractical to do a number of tasks one-handed), and there's lots of screen space.
Also, the stylus on the Note makes it a lot easier to press small buttons, so if you are planning on using it two-handed, that's a great benefit.
Logos won't detect either device as a "tablet", but if you want larger or smaller margins you can adjust that in Logos' settings, and you can still access all the features on a non-tablet as you can as a tablet -- only real difference between the phone and tablet versions of Logos is the home screen is placed in the side panel rather than on a separate screen.
If you have the opportunity to go into a store and try them, I think you would get a much better idea of what you personally will enjoy.

I will second the suggestion to go play with both devices. I have had the Note I and loved it. I now have the Note II and it is even nicer. Since I rarely did things one handed the size has never been an issue.
My wife has the S3 and loves it. I do too. The Note II is a little faster, a plus. And Note II runs JB.
So either one will make you very happy.

If you can stand the larger screen, get the Note II. Jelly Bean and a much newer device means a more fresh device for longer. Android phones don't update much after they're more than 6 mos old unless you get a Nexus and even then might see problems when it gets a year old.

I have the NOTE 1...LOVE IT! great to read with and as mentioned, the pen make a great note taker...IT WILL SEEM large...for about 2-3 hours...after than...EVERYTHING ELSE is just too small
Highly recommended for LOGOS...especially with 2 resourses linked open!
I would like to get a Windows 8 phone, with live tiles...but NO logos...that is a deal breaker

Philip, I also use the Note 1, and love it. Have read several books through on the Note now, as well as using it for my primary Bible when away from home/computer.
Try it in a store. IMHO it's not too large to carry or pocket, and there's never too much viewing space.

I do not have the S3 and so cannot comment much on it, but I do have the Samsung Note II and will recommend it. I prepare my notes on my PC, add notes, colour verses and make all needed additions in logos, then sync and all is ready on my Note II. I believe in my own funny way, the Samsung Tab II was made for my logos bible. It is just great as I teach and preach with it. You will love it and your work load in paper will be minimal. I love Logos and Note II.

FYI, the S3 runs Jelly Bean too. I think a couple carriers doesn't have its update yet, but are releasing it's update soon.

I have the note 2 also. I love the size and have wanted a phone in this format factor for years, but then I carried a big PDA about this size in addition to my phone for over a decade. I have never been much of one to use even my small phones with only one hand: I'm a computer nerd - what do I know of the coordination needed to do that. :-)
