Abrahamic Covenant

Thought I would reach out to the community asking for some guidance.  I have to create an Abrahamic Covenant Chart using Genesis 12 - 50.  The Chart must include every instance (reference) where the covenant appears in some form (may be interpretative).  I was wondering if there is a way to identify the covenants using some form of search?  Any assistance would be helpful.

Thanks in advance

  • Start by looking up either Abraham or covenant in a good Bible Dictionary or Encyclopedia.

You may also want to search your topical indexes. I cannot get to it right now, but you may want to check the Dictionary of Bible Themes if you have that resource.

Thanks Lynden and Fredc.  I have created a layout of your suggestions.

Also, take a look at any Old Testament Biblical theology books you have.  For example, there's a good chapter (chapter 12 - The Gift of the Abrahamic Covenant: The Chosen Seed) in An Old Testament Theology: An Exegetical, Canonical and Thematic Approach by Waltke.

Me too - I've added a short-cut to it on Logos 5 as I use it so often!

[Y] I found it really helpful when I had to write a series of assignments on Genesis 12 in seminary!
