To those who're getting a crash on launch....

I was just sitting here thinking....how can I get in to the beta!!
Well...I did two things...not sure of which had the most to do with my success....hmm
I checked the "run in compatibiltiy mode" and tried it...no success...crash on launch...
Then before going back out of compatibilty mode..I "control-clicked" the logos icon and checked the "open to a blank workspace" and it launched and is now indexing!
So....I unchecked the "compatibility mode" and tried a regular launch...and it works just fine.....

That's good news Robert. Unfortunately I was actually able to get it running but like another poster in the main thread, every time I'd click a resource it would crash.
I believe that whatever code they added for beta is quite unstable.
Hope yours runs steady.
Sarcasm is my love language. Obviously I love you.

I went ahead and ignored all the warnings and just upgraded my main installation;
no problems thus far [:)]

Darn!
As suggested, I tried to open a resource...and blam! crash!
the only thing that I can do is do searches....but not look at the results in a resource!...
C'mon Beta 2! [:D]

Can you at least play with the Datasheet?

I have the same problem. I did make it to work by running Logos 4 on my other computer which have not been upgrade to Logos 4ab1 and removed all history and named layouts. Once it is synced with my logos account, I then open my Logos 4a beta 1 and it lunched without problem. I think the problem may be due to named layout since everyone running logos 4 will have history layouts. I hope there is a easy way to delete layouts without the second machine.

Robert,
Can you describe how to do "control-clicked" to check the "open to a blank workspace"? I think this is the solution to the crash problem on lunch. It seems to me that the problem is with the layout.

Ka-LiongLau,
Yes...I can.
When you launch Logos from the short cut..hold down the CTRL key first, then click the short cut.
this will bring up the login screen and you should check the box "open to a blank layout" and then it should open.
