1665.Logos.log
I am trying to create a Passage Guide for Proverbs 3:5-6 and am experiencing repeated crashes. I hope I've attached the correct log file.
Mary-Ellen - I didn't see a crash in your log. Did you grab the Log AFTER it crashed but BEFORE you reopened the app?
Thanks for the rescue attempt! Yes, I think I did. I just re-read the Logos website instructions, created a zipped folder of my whole Logos Log Files folder, but can't figure out how to attach a folder? The attachment process seems to want only a single file?
Here's a new log file, after I just reproduced the crash again. This time I exercised a little patience and waited for the Windows-reporting-to-MS process to finish and let the program close itself.
0456.Logos.log
When I tried to reopen after yet another Passage List crash, Logos 5 hung up at the splash screen. After about 20 minutes, I shut it down through the Task Manager:
4382.Logos.log
Hi Mary-Ellen
Sorry I'm a little confused.
When I tried to reopen after yet another Passage List crash
Is the problem to do with Passage Lists, Passage Guides or both?
Logos 5 hung up at the splash screen
Do you mean the splash screen displayed at start up? If so, this should have disappeared before you were able to execute either a Passage Guide or open a Passage List.
After about 20 minutes, I shut it down through the Task Manager:
From the log it looks as though you might have been trying to execute wildcard searches (using an "*") which can take a very long time in Logos.
Can you provide more details as to what you were actually doing when the hang occurred?
For cases where crashes are involved there should be crash and error log files in the same folder as logos.log. Please post these as well
Thanks, Graham

It appears you have a collection that uses type:* & this can cause hangs. I suggest you change this to rating:>=0 as it is more efficient (or delete the collection as it will load all resources in Library).
Thank you, Dave, for your observation and advice. [I]
Graham, thank you for your help!
Oops! Passage LIST, not Guide. Is it possible for me to change the title of the thread?
Yes, it was the start-up splash screen. This happened after the Passage List crash + shut-down, when I reopened the program. But it now opens up fine, so this must have been just a hiccup.
Just now I
and crashed. Here are the two files that were generated this morning in my Logos Log Files folder:
5468.Logos.log
0882.LogosIndexer.log
I see crash and error log files from Logos4, before I crossgraded to Logos 5 -- but no crash or error files dated today.
Many thanks!
Is it possible for me to change the title of the thread?
Time for this may have expired, but look under the More drop down menu. If Edit is present, you can change the name.
Thanks, Jack! Looks like I've expired. [W]
Thanks for the clarification
I'm afraid these files don't help me understand what is happening
very strange!
Hopefully someone else may be able to help - but it may well be worth contacting Logos Customer services and seeing if they can help. They can log in remotely to your machine (with your permission) and hopefully see what is going on. Contact details for them are at http://www.logos.com/contact
Hope you get this sorted soon
