Naughty Logos [8-)]
My hubby downloaded Logos 5 from my Silver upgrade order for me. About Logos has 5.0b Beta 1 (5.0.2.0441). Apple Get Info has 5.0.1.259 [:^)]
About Logos has 5.0b Beta 1 (5.0.2.0441).
What is the setting on your "update channel" - available in Help -> "About Logos Bible Software"?
Apple Get Info has 5.0.1.259
Believe you have a Mac. Graham's advice is good, but About Logos is located in a different place.
Select About from the Logos Menu
Then, you can see your Update Channel setting

Are you concerned about the discrepancy in build numbers? I believe KS4J pointed this out in another thread somewhere. The download from your orders page should have been the latest stable version… If your update channel is "beta," it would have downloaded that afterwards. Is that not what happened?

Thanks for picking up on that
Graham
That is one of the few places where L5 Mac is "Mac-like" [:D]

Puzzling, but has happened before that a stable link downloaded a beta release.
Keep Smiling [:)]

The good news is that 5.0b Beta 1 is the most stable initial beta release in recent memory [:D] AFAIK, the bad news would be that switching from beta to stable is rather messy.

Not sure about that.[:(]
There are a lot of crashes reported, most - if not all - related in some way to having the Information panel open

If the information panel is sett to "hover". Apparently does not crash with it set to "Click"

Yes, I saw the comment about click / hover.
However I have had a number crashes (reported in a number of threads) and I have it set to "Click"!
I also had my only crash when it was click and could only get Logos to work by forcing it to load a blank desktop
Don't use that panel very often, so have limited knowledge here. Most of the Mac crashes seem to have the "too many open files" source which I believe is present in both beta and stable versions. I have had a few random crashes, many of which went unreported. They may have had that same source.

The OS X 10.8 default for open files per user process is 256, which can be displayed in terminal by using command:
ulimit -a
After experiencing "too many open files" crash in Logos 5.0b Beta 1, created file ~/.profile that has one line:
ulimit -n 512
that doubles the number of open files. Apologies: not know yet if .profile modification of open files per user is effective for Logos; may need to logout and login.
