Export Notes

Is it possible to to export notes via Android or a web interface? I'm contemplating switching completely over to digital Bible study to include note taking. My one hesitation would be if Logos were to discontinue support and all of my notes were lost.

Thanks,
James

Good question, James.  I don't know. I'm surprised one of the pros hasn't answered.

OK, I'll try to be a pro, but you get what you pay for.

I don't see a way to do a universal export, but it is easy to export each note file to a Word document.  Just go to that note file (A and then B below), click on the file menu, and choose Print/Export'.  Here's a pic (below) showing this in one of my note files.

You could periodically back up each file to your hard drive this way without too much difficulty.

I don't know how you'd do this from the Android platform, but it's not hard from a PC.

Are those screen shots from Biblia or the purchased app?  I'm not sure if my notes are supposed to sync between Biblia and Android, but they currently are not.

I'm impressed with the app, although there are a few things I would like to see...hopefully in the future as it is developed (note export being one).

    Hi James,

Community Notes are synced to Biblia but Standard notes are not.

Notes created on mobile devices are synced to Logos Desktop, from which you can export as mentioned in this thread.  However you obviously need Logos Desktop for that to work.

Thanks, Kevin.  Do you know if Logos intends to allow Android export?  I
would hate to use this app for the next year only to lose my notes
    because of a software change.

    Hi James,

Note export capability on mobile devices is not a priority.  Your mobile notes will not be lost if you purchase a Logos package - they will be synced to Desktop or other mobile devices.

    Hello,

I am testing several Bible apps and looking to keep my own notes as well. The ability to export all notes to Word is very important to me, and because I see that it is not a priority, I will move on and keep looking. If this ability were included, it would be the best Bible app ever. Please consider making this a priority in your future development.

I moved over from OliveTree to Logos Bible. OliveTree syncs all notes with Evernote so you have a seperate "backup" of your notes. However, as one of the other posters mentioned, your notes are sync'd to your desktop version - which unless you are using the free Android version only, will give you a backup of your notes on a different platform. As suggested the individual note export to a Word file can be laborious - I have over 500 notes in OliveTree that I am copying over, and that is small compared to many others.

Agreed that there is a remote chance that Logos mucks things up and notes are deleted, but then if you sync and are backing up your PC, then you can recover.

I am a touch uneasy that some of the Logos functions require connection to their servers e.g. the passage guide. OliveTree's Resource Guide (their equivalent) does not. However, the major reason I swapped to Logos is their incredible collection of resources - just not available by any other company: Laridian, OliveTree, Mantis or CadreBible. So yes there is risk, but in my opinion it is a small risk.

It took me over 2 years to be convinced of Logos, but eventually the new resoruces did it for me. However, you might be very happy with OliveTree and it might be perfect for your needs.

We can't even find our notes unless we memorize where the verses are, so many adding a "notes and highlights" folder under Favorites tab would be important. not sure why a verse with a note or highlighted is not added to Favorites list in the first place. for us who can't afford hundreds of dollars for the package, this app is VERY IMPORTANT TO US. :-)

    Hi Jordan,

This functionality is implemented on iPad devices (and partially on iPhone devices) through the use of Note Documents.  Please see   http://screencast.com/t/u4AQnJV8

We hope to add the same feature to the Android side but I don't know the time frame.  Thanks for the report!

My one wish is that functionality for Notes on Android could be the same as it is on IPone/ITouch devices. I have recently gotten a smart phone and have move everything to this device and I miss very much the ability to find my notes as I could on my ITouch! So will be very happy when this can come about!
