What does this mean? - Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE HE

I just had this happen to me when I posted in another thread - Normal

Does anyone know why this attached itself to the top of my post? See my post at the bottom of this page for an example - http://community.logos.com/forums/p/63317/447450.aspx#447450
I didn't want to highjack the other thread so I decided to start a new one. My guess is that it has something to do with cutting and pasting as I cut and pasted from an email I wrote.

another user mentioned that is happens when copying and pasting from Microsoft Word. I would guess that the same thing is true that your email program adds this code in it's text editor.

What is interesting is that I noticed it immediately and tried to edit it out but I was not able to do this.

I may be totally off-base here but is it possible the lack of editing capabilities is an automated spam fighting response?

That is an interesting thought.

One of the spammers' modus operandi is to make a post and then edit in a bunch of links to get around potential hurdles.Bruce Dunning said:

Yet the software usually allows us to make edits right away if we notice a mistake after we post.

Somehow it doesn't allow editing this strange line - this has been so for as long as I'm with this forum, and I don't think it has anything to do with anti-spam measures.

Maybe it is another bug from Microsoft, a "watermark", jf you will. [:D]

For some reasons, this has been showing up since Logos started to use forumns. It is nothing new.NB.Mick said:this has been so for as long as I'm with this forum, and I don't think it has anything to do with anti-spam measures.
Call me curious but I would still like to understand why.

It's document formatting information that is carried over from MS Word.
The reason it shows up and can not be deleted is due to poor programming practices by the creator of this sub-par forum software used by Logos.
In order to compensate for the flaws in the software there is a "Paste form Word" (the clipboard with the Word logo in front of it) button that opens up another dialog that correctly process the text from Word.

It is interesting to note that I didn't paste it in from Word but rather from Outlook so my guess is that this is something that will happen copying any Microsoft data. I will have to try your "Paste from Word" the next time I copy data to post.
Is the forum custom software or pre-packaged? How hard would this be for Logos programmers to fix? Is it even possible?

Yeah, Word and Outlook share the same text processing code.

It's pre-packaged. If you look at some of the first posts back when the forums started, you'll find some threads from those who came over from the newsgroups and we were complaining that Logos could have chosen a much better brand of forum software.

Doesn't any learning stem from curiosity?
Hey Super Tramp. Just noticed that you are one post away from 5000. Congrats! We appreciate all your work to help the community.

If you experience this error on your blog while pasting from Microsoft Word, I will frankly say that it has to do with the incompatibility of Microsoft Word with the blogger platform. So if you have this problem, do not panic I have written a nice article on " How to remove or avoid this error “Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 ...” on blogger." I assure this will help you out.
