Notes & Highlights on Kindle Fire?

I just recieved a kindle fire in the mail. I've had it about 4 hours now and the app works great, except my notes and highlights haven't appeared yet. Does any one know about this? Do they just take a while to appear or do highlights and notes not work on the fire? I see there is an option for notes in the options menu. I have it turned on. Has anyone had a similar experience?

I use the kindle Fire and have both notes and highlight capability.

Depending on the number of notes and highlights it will take some time to sync.

But at this point note files cannot be created on the Kindle Fire. You only see them when you try to highlight and then by default it says solid colors, then from there you can choose what note file you want the highlight to be attached to.

Ok, thanks for the responses. I've had mine three days now and I have none of my highlights or notes showing up. Community notes are showing up however. I have a lot of notes, so maybe it's just taking forever. But three days seems like a lot of time...

4 days and still no notes. I'm a bit dissapointed because one of the main reasons I purchased the fire was so that I could see my notes and highlights. Does anyone have an idea of how to force the app to sync? Or maybe some other method for getting the notes and highlights to show up? (I'm considering deleting the app and then redownloading it as well); any ideas from Kindle experts...?
