Hi,
Every time I start Logos on the iPad i get the message "XXX not available to download without a license". I don't want to download it I just want the message to stop bothering me. What do I do?
thanks
karl
Hi Karl
Does the message actually have "XXX" or is is the name of a resource?
Just wondering if - in some way - the app is trying to access a resource which you don't have.
Are you using the free resources which come with the app or have you purchased some Logos resources?
Graham
HinGraham,
Yes, It is an resource name, and yes I have purchased resources.
Karl
Can you tell us which resource is being reported?
Karl -
Is the resource open in a panel, or is the message about a non-opened resource? If it is the prior, what happens when it isn't opened and you restart? If it is the later, you may want to try to reinstall the app and don't let the app automatically redownload resources.
No, the resource is not open.
I do not own it.
If you don't own a resource you can't download it.
I don't want to download it.
I just want it to stop telling me I can't.

Sorry, I misunderstood.
My guess is that the app thinks it is marked for download - suggest you contact Customer Services and ask them to reset this.
Contact details are at http://www.logos.com/about/contact
Hope this helps
I'll try that, thank you!
This issue has been reported to us by another user. We are waiting on development to review the issue and find a solution.
Thank you for your patience with us in the meantime.
Curious if there is a resolution to this issue yet? I've been having the same problem since autumn of last year.
Not yet, I still have the problem from time to time
Reginald - First, welcome to the forums!
Just to double check… are you saying that you get this popup randomly about resources that you have actually purchased (either individually or through a base package)? What app and version are you using? What device & OS?
I get this always about the same resource, which I don't own a license for.
Sorry Karl - I remember that. I was wondering about Reginald. Sometimes users have symptoms similar to other users and assume it is the same issue. I was fishing to make sure Reginald indeed has the same issue as you, and not another one.
No problem
No, I'm the same as Karl. Every time it's the same book I get the pop up for - "1881 Wescott-Hort Greek New Testament". It's a resource I'm allowed access to to online but I'm told I can't download it without a license - which I don't have.
The problem occurs on my iPad IOS 6.0.1, using the Logos app which I update whenever I'm prompted to.
Hi Reginald,
We just came out with an update (Jan 22) can you update and let us know if you are still having problems with the app?
I had the same problem. I solved it by deleting and reinstalling the logos app
take care,
Melvin Valiente
I solved the same problem by deleting and reinstalling the logos app
i hope it works for you,
I'm having the same problem. Is there a command I can give Logos to update itself?
I'm having the same problem since I upgraded to Logos 5. Only two books are downloaded. Suggestions?
Only two books are downloaded
Which two books?
Welcome to the forums Robert!
What version of the mobile app are you running?
Just updated it and the box still pops up.

And to double check, you aren't trying to download it… but you still get the message? If so, I would contact Logos customer service. Perhaps there is an issue with your account.
What triggered it was that it is available online to users but not offline without a license. I wasn't aware of that, and accidentally hit "download". Not interested enough to purchase it for offline use, but just really want the box to stop popping up. I've tried deleting and reinstalling the app several times, and nothing seems to work.
I really think you are going to have to contact Logos. It doesn't sound like a "bug" so much as an issue with your user account. I believe another user was able to get this resolved with a call.
Can you please send your logs to us through the Settings > Help > Send support info dialog? This will help us sort out the problem. Thanks!
Sent it today
Thanks for the helpful advice. I uninstalled and then reinstalled Logos and that solved the problem.
We've reset some data on the server - please uninstall and reinstall the app and let me know if the issue is gone.
Works perfectly! Thanks for your help!
I have exactly this problem running 3.2.1.1993 on my iPad3 with iOS 6.1. It happens every single time I start the app, even if I just close the iPad's cover for a moment and re-open it with Logos still open. Today I once more deleted Logos and reinstalled in an attempt to clear the issue.

The issue is likely with your account, so deleting the app will have no effect.
What version of the desktop app are you running? Do you own a base package?
I don't use the desktop application any more: I don't have adequate hardware for it. I have a gold level base package of Logos 4. With some additional resources tacked on.
Todd - I would contact Logos by phone during business hours. Hopefully customer service can take care of this for you.
Todd, It doesn't look like you have a license to La Biblia de las Americas. That would be why you can't download it. We provide access to books that users of the mobile applications may not actually own, but in streaming form only.
Tommy - I don't think the issue is the inability to download the resource... But the warning that you can't do so which pops up each time the app is started. Is that right Todd? Other users have experienced this as well. Did you attempt to download it at some point? Did you perform a "download all?"
Once upon a time I had it marked to download, when I was developing for Logos and used LBLA for testing. But you are correct: I don't have rights to LBLA and I no longer wish to download it. It is not marked to be downloaded in the GUI. But the dialog still pops up every time I start Logos. So I'm hoping there's a setting in my profile that someone can reset.
Todd, we reset your mobile sync data, so you should not longer be asked to download that resource you don't own. Be sure to shut down the app from the list of open applications before checking.
That resolved my issue. Thank you for your help.
Welcome to the forums! Sorry for your troubles. [:s]
Would you be able to reset me as well, please?
Mark - This is a very old thread. It might be beneficial for you to create a new thread and explain your issue clearly.
