using AND as a search operator

Greetings all:

I am trying to finds books in my library whose titles include the words "Spiritual" AND "Gifts." (if those two words are not in the title, I do not want them listed.)

If I use this string in my library: title:spiritual AND gifts

One of the three books Logos identifies is: Preaching with spiritual passion: How to stay fresh in your calling

I thought the "AND" operator, required both terms be in the title. What am I misunderstanding?

title:spiritual AND title:gifts will give you what you want, otherwise "gifts" can be anywhere in the resource metadata e.g.in its description.

Yes, can filter Library using two title criteria (default is AND):

title:Spiritual title:Gifts

If want to use OR, then need AND too:

(title:Spiritual AND title:Gifts) OR Subject:Gifts

You can do this with OR (using a comma, the "list operator"), but not with AND.

For example, this filter will find all books with either Luther or Calvin or Augustine (or any combination thereof) in their titles.

title:(Luther, Calvin, Augustine)

There is no equivalent way to do it with AND; you have to repeat the title: prefix, however as KS4J pointed out, you don't need to type AND since it is understood if omitted. The following two lines are equivalent:

title:spiritual title:gifts

title:spiritual AND title:gifts
