BUG: LEB switching from one two columns to one while reading

I have found on several occasions that the LEB switches from two columns to one as I swipe from page to page. My current settings for columns is set to "auto," but if I try to force two columns there is no difference. The last time this happened was when I initially jumped to Colossians 1:1 and swiped through the chapters. It switched around chapter 3. Thanks.

    Hi David

I seem to recall that this happens when a heading is too long for a single line in column view. It should switch back to columns once the offending line is scrolled off the page but I don't think it does (yet).

I tried this and it dropped down from 3 columns to 2 (this is on an iPad in landscape orientation) and stayed like this until getting to the 1 Timothy where it reverted automatically back to 3.

As Mike says, this is related to having to cater for something too long to fit in the column widths - in this case I think it is the titles for the start of 1 & 2 Thessalonians but difficult to tell.

That is interesting. I didn't realize it tried to do this with long titles. There is one on Colossians 3 that is long, however, the behavior isn't consistent. If I return to the previous page the column stays at one even though long titles don't exists. Maybe that behavior can be evaluated by Logos. Honestly, I'd prefer they just wrap the text or possibly scale the font. At minimum, it would be nice for it to revert back correctly. Thanks for your insights.

Long titles are the prime suspect, but they aren't the only one. Anything that is too wide for a column and fixed width (i.e. a graphic) will cause the change. This has been true as well for the desktop app, but I am unsure of the current state… it's been a while since I have checked. Dynamically scaling the title's typeface is an interesting idea… hmm. I wonder if it could be made to work...

This is good information. Thx. I would then still report that it seems there is a problem restoring the columns once you leave a page as you described. If you are on a two colum page and then swipe to one that changes to one column, and if you return to the previous two column page it remains one column.

I concur… I assume there is still an "open case" for this issue, but I'm not sure. It hasn't been brought up in the forums "recently."
