Oxford Bible Commentary on CD - How to Unlock?

I just got a physical copy of the "Oxford Bible Commentary" (ISBN 0198755007). It contains a CD with a Logos version of the book on it.

While there is an unlocked demo version on the CD (with just Genesis and Mark), the full version needs to be unlocked. However, apparently this isn't sold anymore, thus I can't seem to unlock it.

Does anyone have any idea how I can unlock this?

You can try installing it and see whether the in-app unlock (=buy) works somehow. Otherwise you'd need to call customer service, but I don't know if it is at all possible to unlock these old resources.

Sogol, does the CD have a Logos 2 or Libronix (Logos 3) logo?

Or, simpler...if it has a serial number on the case anywhere, you can call Customer Service to have it unlocked for you.

Thanks for documenting that so well. I actually had tried similar steps as you, but the problem I am having is at step #2 because mine is not finding the resource unlocked. It finds a demo version unlocked, but not the full version. And there does not appear to be a serial number anywhere with the CD.

Perhaps the version I bought will only unlock the demo for you. Do you know which version of the book (ISBN or web link) you bought? I'd really like to get a version I can install and use.

I'm not positive that was the product I was installing when I worked out the steps in that link, but quite likely.

the relevant point is not the technical installation, but the question whether you already paid for the full digital copy of the commentary or not.

Back when Logos products were produced on CD-ROMS, the CDs often contained resources that were unlocked (whether free, free with a paper book purchase or paid) plus additional resources that could be unlocked (=bought) from within the application.

The Amazon product page of the paper book version of Oxford Commentary says that it contains a CD-ROM with a free sample of the digital version ( http://www.amazon.com/Oxford-Bible-Commentary-John-Barton/dp/0198755007 ) - if this is your CD, you have no valid licence for the full product and won't be able to use the other files without buying the licence first. If, on the other hand, you bought a digital version as Rosie referred to, Logos Customer Service will be able to unlock it upon proof of purchase.

That does look like a different version than the one I have. I think I just get the unlocked demo with the book I bought. The version you bought looks impossible to find anymore. Oh well.

I think you're right, Nick. As I just mentioned to Rosie, it looks like I just get the demo with what I bought. I'll try and find the version she bought, but it looks pretty hard to find these days.

Does that really say it only comes with a free sample of the text? The description I read says "The OBC features a Logos Library System CD-ROM that, once unlocked, gives the reader access to its text and that of the New Revised Standard Version Bible. The CD is fully compatible with all Logos products." -- the key is what does "once unlocked" mean -- does it come with instructions for unlocking it, and does the process of unlocking involve paying more money?

I was researching how to install Logos 2.0 resources when I came across this thread and post. Just for the fun of it, I clicked your link, and there was a new disc available for 9.99! I quickly purchased it.
