How was Jesus referred to in the Book of Hebrews only?

I'm not exactly sure how I use the passage guide to find these results:

I want to find every occurrence in the Epistle to the Hebrews that refers to Jesus. For example, He is described as a priest, or a prophet, or better, or ....

I know how to find all the verses that talk about him, but not the pronouns, nouns, adjectives, etc.

I think you can use a clause search for "person:Jesus", and limit the range to the book of Hebrews.

Since you have this under L5, try the ‘topics’ guide and type in the book of Hebrews, I believe that you will find something under persons…..

Hebrews 1.2 - his Son

Heb. 1.2 -the heir of all things

1.3 - the exact imprint of his nature

3.1 - the apostle

3.1 - high priest

3.3 - counted more worthy of more glory than Moses.

Something like that.

"Where Jesus is referred" to is not a name per se, it could/can be any type of referral such as "heir of all things" as captured in your search results.....

This is what I'm looking for. I could go through the whole Book of Hebrews and do exactly that, which is not a bad idea, but to save time it would be nice to find these kinds of verses.

According to the way Logos has tagged this the person referenced here is the Psalmist. So the tagging is going back to the original quote as opposed to the way in which it is being applied to Jesus.

All the other ones you include in your list are included in the search results.

I can't think of a better way to go about this than to start from the search results - maybe make a Passage List from it - and then work through it to see what titles are used.

You could try using the Bible Facts tool and look at Jesus and then use the information in the "Referred to as" section

Expand each referrent and see which of them appear in Hebrews

I got similar results but not exactly. The Greek bible that my program populates from is the LGNTI:SBL and not the SBLGNT as demonstrated. I can't get this bible to populate my drop down list for selection. I tried prioritizing it a few different ways but nothing works. I must be missing something here. Hebrews is one of my favorite books in all of the New Testament. I sure would like to master this treatment of analyzing this book. BTW nice work Richard!

That's curious, because for me it's the other way around. I can only search using SBLGNT (or LHB for OT), but I can add LGNTI:SBL as a version. Are you able to add SBLGNT as a version alongside LGNTI:SBL?

I just got off the phone with Logos. The reason why some of us can only search in the LGINT:SBL "may" be the difference between the released edition of L5 and the Beta.

So it looks like until someone can search both SBL editions in the released versions that may be our answer. Also, when another released version comes out, that may resolve this search question.

In 5.0b, the "searchable version" was changed to GNT:SBL and the other version is no longer available in clause search.

So when you upgrade to 5.0b you will still only have one to search in - it will just be a different one!
