I downloaded the LGNTI:SBl but the clause does not search just shows blank as if there is not book to search from.
Josh, if you downloaded the free L5 engine you won't have the 2x Clause Search datasets --> the resources LHB & LGNTI:SBL are just for displaying the results.
You need to purchase the Min Crossgrade for those.
I do have the min crossgrade thougth
Every thing else works on my min corssgrade everything but the clause
What happens when you try a search? What search string are you using? Has indexing finished?
The words I put in turn red in the search. Here is an Example: Person:Jesus then no search results come up. Not sure what indexing is does that mean downloads? If so I did all my downloads 3 days ago I would hope its finished.
On the Logos 5 Minimal Crossgrade page (http://www.logos.com/product/28376/logos-5-minimal-crossgrade), it states: "The Logos 5 Minimal Crossgrade is designed only for users who are coming from a Logos 4 base package. If you have never owned a Logos 4 base package, you will need to also purchase the Logos 4 Minimal Crossgrade.)".
The Logos 5 Minimal Crossgrade builds on top of a Logos 4 base package or the Logos 4 Minimal Crossgrade. If you don't own one of these, the Clause Search will not work because some key datasets it requires are not present.
Thankyou!!!
If the words are typically red then the search syntax is invalid. However, person:Jesus is correct and should turn up results.
Indexing is the process after a download where Logos creates an index of your resources to be able to search them. If an index is corrupt or missing searches would not work.
Here's what a sucessful clause search looked like for me. Do you notice anything different on your screen?
Thanks for the input Bradley while I was posting above.
Now is there such thing as logos 3 or 2 or 1 before I go and buy 4 lol. Don't want to wast anymore money this mouth if I buy 4 then need 3,2,1 as well?
Not sure what indexing is does that mean downloads?
Indexing and downloading are separate things. After you download a resource, it must be indexed. I am not a techie and don't want to give you a technical definition of indexing… but think of it this way: Your new electronic toy needs batteries… it isn't enough to buy the batteries… you have to put them in!
Likewise, when you download a new resource, Logos needs to know what to do with the new resource. Its like a puzzle piece that needs to be put in the right spot. The indexing process is what makes Logos resources different than a Kindle resource, for example. When you read a Kindle version of the bible, you don't expect that if you click on "Grace" you can do an original word study… But you CAN do that with a Logos resource if it has a reverse interlinear AND if it has been indexed.
FYI - The indexing process should happen automatically. Normally, after a resource downloads, Logos asks to restart. After the restart, the app should begin to index. This process for a single resource can take a minute to more than an hour… It depends upon how much "stuff" there is to do.
No. Bradley who answered above is a knowledgable Logos employee. He won't steer you wrong.
It might be helpful, however, for you to explain what you want out of Logos...
Ok I went and payed for logos 4 so it works with my logos 5. Now does it not download until after the payment plan is done?? This is getting to be more trouble than its worth. Because It still does not work

So - just to clarify this was the L4 minimal crossgrade you bought on a payment plan, not any other base package?
And the resources should be available to you as seen as you have placed the order - even if on a payment plan.
Have you tried:
Which Logos4 Crossgrade did you purchase? As KSFJ points out in another thread, there's two of them. I'd assume you have to get the right one.
Logos 4 Minimal Crossgrade. I went here to get it.
What did you pay for? (Logos4 base packages are no longer available, as far as I know.)
Your best course of action may be to speak with a sales rep tomorrow and get this sorted out. Since you didn't own a previous version of Logos, the crossgrade is not designed for you - so you may want to take advantage of Logos return policy with that and put your funds toward one of the Logos5 base packages. There are too many configurations and options to spell out clearly in a short forum post, but a sales rep can walk you through your options and help you get what you want/need.
Whatever you buy should download automatically (assuming you're using the same user ID on the web site and in Logos5), but sometimes it takes a few minutes for the servers to catch up with the purchase. Let it fully download and finish indexing before trying any searching, since searches depend on a completed index.
EDIT: Should have read more carefully. [sigh]
Yay!!!!! Thank you all for your help!!!! It seems I did jump the gun a little on not giving it enough time I went to my ipad and downloaded everything on it and when I went back to my computer everything worked.
