Minimal Crossgrade

Has anyone here installed the $69.95 Minimal Crossgrade? I bought the DVD, but the files are invisible to my Mac unless I use a special program. Logos 4 was the only file I have been able to use. I am now at alpha 5, but want to access the other files that I paid for. I tried downloading the crossgrade, but am asked to pay again. I was logged in at the time. Do you suppose that these files are not unlocked? Any suggestions?

When you install L4mac or L4windows, you will need to enter your customer ID and password. L4 will connect you to the Logos servers, update your license info, download, and index all your resources. This process should be automated.

Here is the installation information from the Logos FAQ on their website

Q: How do I install Logos 4?

A: If you purchased the downloadable version, you should have received a link to the Logos 4 installer in your receipt online and in an email. Click the link and run the file to begin the installation process. If you purchased Logos 4 on DVD, simply insert the disk into your DVD drive and follow the on-screen instructions.

Q: How do I activate Logos 4?

A: If you purchased the DVD version of a Logos 4 base package, you will be asked to enter the serial number included on a sticker on the back of the packaging during installation. If you purchased the downloadable version of a Logos 4base package or a base package upgrade, activation took place during the checkout process and you will not receive a serial number. All you need to do is log in with the email address and password that you use to log in to our website.

Hi Joe,

That's the problem. When I insert the DVD into my Mac the Logos 4 program pops up. No instructions, no asking for serial number, nothing. In fact my Mac shows only the the application, nothing else even tho it shows the size of the DVD is over 8GB. If I use Pathfinder 5, which shows invisible files, then all is there, but I have no way to install them. For instance, God's Word Bible is included in the crossgrade. If I manually install the file it is not recognized. If I go to the Logos website and download the God's Word Bible and manually install the file it is not recognized. If I start Logos 3 for the Mac and run the library I can see the file, but it is locked. If I try to open the file, I am directed to the Logos website and asked to purchase the program, which I already purchased via the crossgrade. So I am perplexed. I have tried customer service, but have been directed to the forums. Any ideas?

For the book to be unlocked in Logos 3 you need to go to syncronize your licenses from the tools menu. You can then use the Resource Installer to install the unlocked items for Logos 3. L4 is still in Alpha stage, and I downloaded my resources from the internet, so even if the program would run for you I don't know how you would install the resources from the disk at this point.

Perhaps that is the problem. Logos 4 Mac may not be able to load the resources at this stage in its Alpha 5 release. I'll try to be patient.

I'd also wager that the resources on the disk are in L4 format, so L3 can't recognize them
