I have built my own Word Study Guide. I call it "Original Language Word Study Guide." In the guide itself I have Inserted sections: Definition (which searches my tagged collection I have designated "Word Studies"); Root, Lemma, Greek Words, Hebrew Words, and Grammatical Relationships. My main concern is the definition section which I inserted particular resources that will result in both diachronic and synchronic word study results.
In the Word Studies collection mentioned above I have Liddell-Scott, IGEL, BDAG, HALOT, TDNT, TLNT, TLOT. (Other resources not purchased in this yet I would included are: Hatch-Redpath, Moulton-Milligan, Moulton-Geden, Collin Brown, and Van Gemeren.)
My desire is to yield the results for a OT word:
I. Historical (Diachronic) Study (???)
1. (???)
II. Synchronic Study
3. Extra- biblical Hebrew/Aramaic usage ((Jenni, Westermann))
5. OT Usage
A. Masoretic (???)
B. Dead Sea Scrolls (???)
C. Septuagint (???)
III. Comparison of Results(Van Gemeren)
My desire is to yield the results for a NT word:
I. Historical (Diachronic) Study
1. Classical usage (Liddell-Scott)
2. Septuagint usage (Hatch-Redpath)
II. Synchronic Study
3. Extra- biblical Koine usage (Moulton-Milligan, Spicg
4. NT Usage (Moulton-Geden)
III. Comparison of Results(Kittel or Brown)
Here are the questions I have:
1) The search box will only allow for English language, and that does not allow me to search any original language word. I do not want to do an English word study I want to do an original language word study. Which means I cannot use any of my resources the way I would prefer. How do I get around that?
2) Any resource suggestions that would fill my gaps and needs in my outline(s) above?
3) Any suggested changes to the OT Word Study outline?
My desire is to yield Diachronic, Synchronic, and a comparsion of any word in the original language...at the press of enter with this amazing software. Thank you for your time.
