This is happening a little too often for a stable release.
How do you like my versions, then: BUG: What is Thunderbird's icon doing on a Logos tab? [:D]

At least you have something recognizable to look at.
Do you have any reproduction steps for this issue? If not, could you please post logs the next time this occurs?

No.

Yes.

5001.LogosLogs 20130220-162911.gz
another one.
5305.LogosLogs 20130227-175830.gz
4606.LogosLogs.resource tab.20130308-232138.zip
That beats me. I've never managed to get more than two icons to show up.[:D]
Brisa, do you still need logs for this? I haven't seen it in my installation since you asked for them (or at least only for split seconds, too short to catch on a screenshot).

you'll just need to try harder. [:P]
another report of this issue here
We discussed this with Mac Development and found out this bug is caused by a problem in "Core Animation", which is controlled by OS X and the GPU.
It seems as though the GPU may be running out of dedicated memory and jumbling its cached images. This would cause other images to appear in place of the Logos images used in tabs and possibly elsewhere in the application where the interface is animated.
Does restarting the application or rebooting the computer help?
I don't know about Anon, but for me that's never been necessary. It either goes away by itself as the tabs finish loading, or it goes away the next time something's changed: switching to another tab, adding or deleting a tab or a panel, widening or narrowing a panel...
Just to understand you correctly: are you saying this is a hardware issue that you can't really do anything about?
Afterthought: Hmm... I just saw Anon's signature. I can understand me running out of dedicated memory, but with that computer??
no need to restart - closing and re-opening the resource resolves the issue (just don't want the issue - L5 only program to have this issue)
similar experience
I presume this is essentially the same issue:
Don't ask me anything detailed about it, it happened April 17th, though I never found time to post then, but I seem to remember that it was worse than the other examples above, in that clicking another tab didn't really solve anything, it just made that tab visible instead, and made this one all grey.
I also think it may have happened a couple of times more shortly after.
I don't know anything about these things, but I presume you're right, and that it has to do with not enough video RAM. But if so, shouldn't you at least add that to System Requirements? It's there for Windows, but not for Mac.
