Program scaling for MAC?
Does anyone know if Program Scaling (a Windows version feature) will eventually be added to the MAC version?
2015 13" MacBook Pro - 2 Ghz Intel i7 - 16 GB RAM - 500GB SSD - 2018 iMac Pro - 3.2GHz 8-core Xeon - both systems running OS 10.14.3 (Mojave)

It was taken out of the Mac version during the Alpha because Apple designed the feature to only be used by developers. I'll hunt down the a statement by a developer.

The OS X screen magnification option only lets me make everything bigger. Believe it or not, I was looking to make everything a bit smaller. Screen real estate is always at a premium with Logos on my laptop.

It should be noted that Tom was speaking of text size changes (the per-panel setting), not program scaling. Also, Tom's indication that the feature is "on the list" should not be construed as a promise—merely a plan. (I also don't want to give anyone the impression that we aren't planning it)

In that post Tom was hoping for Apple to have some bug fixed when 10.7 was released. It feels like it was now quite some time since that happened.[:D] I presume the bug wasn't fixed in the 10.7 release, and neither in 10.8? Do you have any update at all on this? It would be nice to have something slightly more modern to refer people to when they ask.

The original method mentioned in the referenced thread that was used to implement Program Scaling on Mac was officially deprecated in 10.7. With the introduction of Retina MacBook Pros, Apple changed all of the APIs that developers use when determining the scale of the display. These new APIs are designed to have developers query the scale of, and convert coordinates to, the backing store's (screen's) coordinate system, but do not allow for modification of that information.

OS X system wide scaling option is System Preferences - Display
Choosing a smaller resolution for scaled display effectively magnifies everything.
For Logos on Mac, wonder about some more size slider(s) ? (e.g. Home Page)

Windows has OS-level support for program scaling. OS X had buggy support for program scaling that has now been removed.
This is why the Windows app has program scaling and the Mac app does not.

Thanks. So, if I understand you correctly, the only thing you can do right now is hope for Apple to reintroduce it? Any word if they're planning to do that?
