I see others with the same/similar problem but I wanted to log my problem too. Since this morning I haven't been able to run/open Logos 5.

Hi Des - and welcome to the forums
Sorry to hear you are having problems.
Are you running on Windows or Mac?
After attempting to start Logos can you submit diagnostic logs?
Details of how to do this are at http://www.logos.com/support/logos5/windows/logging and http://www.logos.com/support/logos5/mac/logging
Graham
Thanks for you response Graham.
I am running Windows 7 on a Toshiba notebook
I have tried to open Logos 5 while holding down the CTRL key. Logos 5 doesn't open but I did get a MS dialog box to send an error report to MSoft
I've only noticed this problem today but then I haven't tried to open Logos for a few days

Hi Des
Are you able to submit logs after a failed attempt to start Logos?
I can't access log files using the instructions from your link.
I can right click on the start button link to Logos 5 then click on 'file location' and look around the installed files but I can't locate anything that looks like logs
Please follow the instructions here http://www.logos.com/support/logos5/windows/logging
As per the link the log files should be in "Logos Log Files" under "My Documents"
Do you not have this folder?
OK when you referred to 'My Documents' I twigged that it was a reference to my folder structure and not the structure under Logos installation files. So here are the log files, thanks
7380.Logos Log Files 29Mar2013.zip
The logfile shows:
Error ID: 7484Error detail: FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'Libronix.DigitalLibrary.Logos.dll' or one of its dependencies. The specified module could not be found.
This file should be in the "System" folder in your Logos installation.
(To get to the Logos folders, right-click on the Logos icon, select "Logos Bible Software 5", "Properties" and "Open File Location")
Can you see this DLL file in the System folder?
Hi Des,
I apologize for the trouble. It looks like we can't find a DLL file that should be in the /Logos5/System directory. This can occur in two ways:
This article will help you treat the first scenario: http://www.logos.com/support/logos5/windows/preparing-forever
If that doesn't fix the problem, please delete the System folder, then open /Logos5/Install/Installers, rightclick on "Logos.msi" and choose "Repair" to reinstall the System folder and its contents.
If neither of these options fix the problem, we will probably need to have you call in for support by phone.
Hi, I can see 'Libronix.DigitalLibrary.Logos.dll' in the system folder so now I am looking at doing the second option of deleting the system folder then repairing to reinstall the system folder. I can't see a Logos5 folder, can you tell where it should be?
I have just encountered the same problem on my Windows 7 laptop. Used Logos 5 last night but today it won't open. Clicking on the start up icon produces nothing.
If you upgraded in place from Logos 4, then the directory with be Logos4 instead of Logos5. Otherwise, everything is the same.
I have just encountered the same problem
Steve - Sorry you are having problems [:S]
Please create a new thread, explain the issue, and post logs. You will find a link to instructions in my signature line.
Thanks for all the responses to this problem. I decided to go to Control Panel and try the repair option to Logos 5 but that produced no response, there was another item called Logos 5 Prerequisites so I clicked Repair on that. There was some activity then, so when that finished I tried Logos 5 again but it still didn't open. I clicked restart on my computer and once it had finished starting I was able to open Logos 5 with normal functionality as far as I can tell.

Glad its working again - please post back if you have further problems or questions
I am unable to run logos 5, opens but then will not run and closes down.
Hi Carol - and welcome to the forums
Please enable diagnostic logging as per http://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging
Then please create a new thread explaining as much as you can what is going on and post logs after an unsuccessful start attempt
Thanks, Graham
