iPad versus Android
I have used Logos on Windows some (but not much because I use Linux, not Windows). I usually use Logos on an Android device. Although Logos for Android probably has the best interface for reading Bibles (in my opinion), it is very feature poor.
I have never used Logos on any Mac product. Was considering obtaining an iPad mini primarily because the intended user (Hi Mom) wants something small that has decent Logos functionality. She currently uses it on an Android device and a Windows device. Does the Mac version have more functionality than the Android version?

The Mac version is virtually identical to PC version but the iPad version is the same one that runs on the iPhone and is similar to the android version (the iPad version last i heard had a few more features than the android but the may be at parity now). You only have a basic passage guide and word study. Offline reading of course and some simple searches.

Andrew - Dan answered well. The MAC & PC versions have <near> parity, but the mobile versions are a different story. It has been true that the iOS version has been further along in development than the Android one... but the Android app has been catching up. If she is dissatisfied with her current app, I am not sure if she will be any happier with the iOS version. In other words, I dont know if I would get her the iPad mini for that reason alone. (Personally, I would rather get the iPad for my mother, but that is another story [:P])
Some questions might help:
- What do you mean by "decent Logos functionality" (i.e. what would she want to do with it)
- Where will she be when she uses the device? (some feautres require internet... will she be near wifi?)
- What kind of library (base package) does she have?

My Mother has Scholar Silver as the base package and then a whole bunch of extra books on top of that....
The primary point is that the iPad and Android versions are at least "highly similar" in functionality.
I just asked her what she was "missing", and she indicated that the functionality level is sufficient for her general use in either case. She was under the impression that the iPad version had more capabilities (based on a "Learn Logos Webinar").
It is unclear that she will be near wifi during "off site" use (ie, while teaching a Bible Study), but at home and at her church she has wifi. I have certainly had that problem with the Android version after an update (I needed to "sign in" or something).
Based on this feedback, it seems that either Android or iPad would suffice for her.
The only other thing that may make an iPad "more better gooder" for her is a preference to NOT sync anything (especially contacts and similar) to the cloud while retaining the ability to sync to her PC (WIndows based machine). I have not bothered to figure out how to do that with Android, but I understand that it is directly supported with iPad.

Are speaking here about non-Logos related syncing? I'm not sure I understand what Andriod syncing has to do with windows syncing… In any case, an iPad doesn't ever have to know your mom even has a Windows computer. It might be better that way. [:P]

The iOS app is a "sign in once" app. There isn't a way (or need) to "sign out," except to delete the app. Reading downloaded resources, taking notes, accessing a reading plan, etc, can be done offline without issue. Word studies and passage guides require an internet connection as these are performed on the Logos servers.

Syncing is related to non-logos related functionality, although I understand that Logos does offer some level of syncing with some of their stuff. She has contacts and calendar, but does not want these elsewhere. On Android, you can sync these with gmail. I understand that iPad uses iCould (or something like that) using iCloud.
As for a need to sign-in, I think that I had upgraded the application (new version came out) and it cleared my user-id and password (or something) so that when I went to use it while away from the Internet it refused to function. Functionality may have changed.
