For fun, I began comparing the speeds of L5 Mac and Win8 through Parallels on a late 2012 iMac. In another post I mentioned inconsistent search results between the two and I was advised to rebuild the indexes. I did so on both platforms and the results are now becoming a concern. I did not even get the same results from My Content, for which I only have 15 documents. My search was for "God", All Text in Entire Library.
Here are some of the more glaring discrepancies from a search of 8,840 resources:
Mac-5,000,796 results in 778,516 articles in 7,049 resources. Win-6,234,464 results in 846,066 articles in 7,155 resources.
ISBE: Mac-16,802 in 4,621 resources. Win-22,381 in 5,238 resources
Anchor Yale BD: Mac-14,246 in 2,224 resources. Win-19,802 in 2,447 resources
I could go on, but I think this gives an idea of why I am concerned and frustrated. I would appreciate any advice to correct this situation. I am, of course, assuming that I should get the same results in both programs logged into the same account.
