How do I restart indexing?

After a recent download of updated resources Logos started the indexing process. I've had this experience many times over the last year and a half. No issue...I thought. I have a small library, the process normally takes 20-30 minutes, give or take.

This time it appeared that the indexing "stalled" at approximately 17%. 10 minutes go by on no progress. Hard drive light goes dark. Hmmm.

So... I clicked on the icon to pause indexing, thinking there was a hiccup in the process. I shut down Logos. I restarted the computer. Fresh restart. All good.

Now I'm back up. No apparant issues. Restart Logos. No problem there.

How do I restart indexing? It's not intuitive to me.

If your desire is to rebuild your entire index, use the command rebuild index. You should probably do this overnight, and make sure that your energy settings don't turn the computer off.

If there was indexing left to be done, it should have restarted automatically when you restarted the computer.

If you don't see the indexing icon and want to make sure that it finished, do a search in your Entire Library for something common like 'God' or 'Jesus'. If indexing hasn't finished, you should get a message at the top of the search panel. if you don't, it probably did finish without you noticing it.

So.... I tried searching Help to find out how to do this but did not come across this command. Is there a handy reference guide or sheet somewhere?

There are several different handy reference guides on the Logos wiki, but you still need to know what you're looking for to know which one to look in. Here is one in which you would have found that command, but you might not have found it if you didn't know to look for it:

I forgot...one other related question, please.

I saw in one of the video tutorials that everything that can be entered in the Command Bar is available from a menu. I thought I searched through all the menu options on each tab but I didn't see anything that appeared to be related to indexing.

Are all commands available through a menu option?

No. As you point out the Index commands are not available from menu, together with update now, update resources, and the import commands (and others).
