I tried to install Logos 4 in my laptop running Windows 8 but was unsuccessful. How to resolve the problem?
Hi Waikai - and welcome to the forums
Are you able to provide a bit more information?
How did you go about the installation and what went wrong?
Were any logs created in "My Documents\Logos Log Files"? If so, please post them here using the paperclip icon
Graham
Are there any log files in the folder I mentioned?
and is there any particular reason why you are installing Logos 4 as opposed to version 5?
The free Logos 5 engine is available at http://www.logos.com/installation
Nope, I don't see any log file.
I only bought Logos 4 licence. Can I use Logos 5 without extra charge?
Yes, you can use the free engine (in the link I provided) without extra charge. Some of the new features provided in Logos 5 are only enabled by paying for an upgrade but the base functionality is free
I need to go out now - but there are lots of other people on the forums who can help - but it may well be worth trying v5
I don't see the link. Please resend. Thanks.
I see it, thanks.
The problem you had with installing Logos 4 was due to Windows 8, but you should be able to install Logos 5 without problems.

Are you able to expand on the issue here and why L4 couldn't be installed on Windows 8?
Thanks, Graham

Windows 8 uses .NET 4.5 which is great for Logos 5, but Logos 4 needs .NET 3.5. Win 8 allows this provided you initialise it as a Windows Feature from Control Panel >> Programs and Features before installing Logos 4.
Thanks Dave
Appreciate the insight[Y]
Logos 5 can be downloaded in Win 8 now. Thanks.
That's good news - glad you have it working
